I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Checking in and I have a question

We’re still fairing well in this uneasy time. Nick only works with two people, the couple who owns the company, so he’s still going to work and I stay home and write. Mollie is busy trying to figure out ways to teach little ones remotely. Her dog is thrilled to have time with her. She can even go to work with her since there are no students.

Of our family, LJ is the one I worry about. He’s really the only extrovert in the family. Nick, Mollie and I are content staying home – but my boy moved to NYC for a reason. He wants to be out and about – in bars and restaurants. He wants to go to plays and museums. He likes the hum of the streets and meeting up with friends. Not to mention that NY apartments are made to sleep in and shower the next morning before you go out – not to live in!
His husband, Colin, is still going to work because he works on one of the rooftop farms – not something you can do from home. But he’s riding his bike rather than taking the subway. Colin has suffered with anxiety on and off over the years, not so LJ. LJ could always talk Colin down and help him feel better. But this time LJ is the anxious one, and I’m delighted to say Colin is stepping up to help him. Don’t you love it when a spouse rises to a challenge!
Back on the home front, I’m still wearing the heart monitor until the 27th. So I have a question for some of you –

How in the hell do people sleep in clothes?

I know it’s possible, I did it for forty-nine years! But for almost fourteen years now I’ve slept in the nude and I love it. However, with wires and leads hanging off me, I thought it best to sleep in a T-shirt. It was horrible! It didn’t turn when I did, it got tight in places when I moved. When I’d try to put my arm under my head the sleeves seem to twist and tighten at my armpit. I don’t think I slept at all that first night. The second night I found an old tank top, a little tight but it seemed to move with me and not restrict my arms too much. But I still hate it!
I’ve had to take it very easy after the heart catherization. I mean they do puncture an artery to do it. The instructions said for the next five day do not participate in the following activities – jogging, golfing, playing sports, spanking and sexual activity.
Okay, it didn’t actually mention spanking. But I’m sure that if they knew we indulges they would have. Not to mention I’m sore as a boil!  It sounds like they don’t want to do anything to bring increasing blood flow to the area. I’m not sure it this is good or bad, but it’s not forever, just for right now. Nick told me fondly, that he’s keeping a list and we’ll deal with it at the appropriate time. Can’t ask for much more than that.
So that’s what we’re doing. Feel free to share what’s going on in your life!

  1. The only pajamas I’ve found that I can sleep in are a bamboo cotton blend. They’ve got a nice wide neck so they don’t feel like they’re choking me (an issue I have with some collars) and for whatever reason, the fabric just doesn’t bug me the way most sleepwear or any other clothing does.

Phew... lists to “deal with” later are evil. 😆

    1. I hope I won't have to wear PJ much in the future, but I guess it wouldn't be bad to have a pair around 'in case.'

I have no idea what's on that list.

  2. Hi PK, l am the opposite to you, I am more comfortable sleeping in clothes. I don't find pj's or nighties comfortable as they tend to bunch up, I prefer a short T with little sleeve and panties.

Glad you are holding up well and hope the soreness goes soon. You will be glad to get rid of the monitor! Please keep us updated on the results.

    Hugs
    Roz

    1. Sometimes my shoulders get a little cold in the winter, but I'll grab Nick's hand and put it on my shoulder and that warm me very well.

      I'll let you all know.

  3. Hey PK,

Well, I am like you and prefer nothing to sleep in but for the last 16 years or so, that just isn't practical. So I do a T-shirt and shorts or fleece pants. Still find it agitating in the same way you do though.

Here, the Sheriff is working from home until future notice (thank goodness) and I of course already work from home (here is hoping we don't bop each other on the head before this is over as Windy says!). As for our girl, well, schools are closed for another 2 weeks, but her 2 of her 4 teachers have already sent notice that they will be posting online so they don't fall behind. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

Hopefully, you are feeling better and will be able to engage soon.

    Hugs

    1. When I had kids at home I did sleep in something. And I have a robe hanging right there now. But I love the feeling of clean sheets against my skin.

I don't think schools will go back this year. But I still have a little hope.

    2. Hey, Boo! I do feel like bopping others on the head as we are all home together. LOL! Thank goodness our house is "open" so we have some space! And Storm wants to bop me on the butt, I am sure. We may have to figure out how to do that quietly in the closet soon!

PK.... I can't sleep completely naked, but since meeting you sexy ladies here in blogland, I have taken the recommendation halfway and now go to bed with no panties on and just a t shirt. Storm has turned this into a requirement! Wow!

Rest and heal quickly. I'm sorry you are sore and I know that heart monitor is uncomfortable especially to sleep in. Ugh! I remember having to record when I used the bathroom and when we had sex or exercised. LOL! Hang in there! Hugs, Windy

    3. We are hanging in! I sometimes would like something on my shoulders, they can get cold. But it twist up too much when I try to move. The soreness is getting less everyday.

wishing much closet time for you!

    4. Wow ladies,

PK, I think you are right about school which of course raises my anxiety for my girl. Will she lose the semester? If not, how does that work for next year? plus, she was suppose to start driving in less than 2 weeks and that is now on hold. Sigh. and waiting for concrete information is very difficult.

Windy, with both the Sheriff and I working from home, I think bopping on the head is inevitable. laughing. Who knows, maybe that will lead to other things too?

      Take care ladies, stay safe!

  4. I usually sleep in a long tshirt thing. We have our oldest with special needs living with us and we never know when she may pop in!

We are taking it easy here as well - as in our state most things are shut down. Did a 500 piece puzzle with my husband today - good submission practice - just sayin'!LOL! Hope you and everyone in blogland are doing well!

    1. When you have kids around of any age it it hard to sleep in the nude. I'd like to get a puzzle for Nick, though I don't really like doing them. I'm sure our cat would help him. I'm just not sure how knocking pieces to the floor actually helps.

    2. The vision of the cat knocking the pieces to the floor gave me a good chuckle this Monday morning! Surprised to say that our cat left it alone!
