Welcome to Saturday Spankings! In today’s snippet from Suspicions on the River, the girls continue to enjoy their trip. Allie managed to talk Cassie out of skydiving by offering a slightly less dangerous option of ballooning. All the ladies enjoyed the ride that was exciting, yet serene. The young pilot enjoyed talking with the women.
Oliver surveyed his passengers. “I like guessing relationships. Let me see if I have this right. You three are sisters,” he said pointing to Cassie, Sue and Annie. Then pointing at Jenny and Allie, he announced, “And you two are sisters and she’s your mom.” He indicated Cassie.
“Now you,” he said looking at Lane, noting her fiery red hair and lighter skin. “Let me think. I just have the feeling you’re all family. I’d say you’re a cousin to Allie and Jenny and I’m guessing this lovely lady is your mother.” He pointed at Sue, who grinned broadly.
“Well, am I right?” he asked.
“Close enough,” Lane told him.
Suddenly the wind came sharply from the right, jolting the balloon and causing six pair of startled eyes to look toward Oliver.
“Looks like that storm was moving faster than Mason thought it would. No worries. It’s about time to land anyway.”
“And how do you do that exactly?” Allie asked.
“This pull lets the air escape from the top of the balloon. As it does, we slowly descend.”
They looked up through the opening to watch as Oliver demonstrated. Another sudden burst of wind caused the basket to lean a little. Everyone’s eyes searched Oliver’s face. He didn’t look scared, but he did look serious.
“We’re landing,” he told them.
At the same time his radio crackled to life. “Set her down. The wind’s getting squirrely. Set her down now.”
“On it,” they heard Oliver report.
“Don’t worry ladies,” he told them in a confident voice. “Hold onto the rail and bend your knees. We’ll be fine in just a moment.”
He had barely gotten the words out when the wind seemed to gust from straight above, pushing them downward. In the next instant they were slammed into the ground, then immediately took flight again – minus Oliver. His seat had been up higher than where the women stood and he’d obviously been launched from his perch. Everything seemed to be happening at once. The basket rocked back and forth in the wind. Jenny reached for the rope that would continue to release the air from the balloon, but it was too high for her grasp.
“Get down!” Cassie shouted at her.
“Allie, can you reach it?” Jenny called. Stretching, Allie grabbed the handle and pulled. The wind was pushing them, and they were now rapidly approaching the ground. No one knew how hard they might hit.
They felt the basket scraping trees. Then it slammed down again on its side. Allie was jarred from the basket and she reached quickly to grab Annie who had been standing with her during the ride and pulled her firmly to safety on the ground.
Jenny began to climb out too, when the basket took off once again. She dangled for a moment before she let go or lost her grip and fell. Allie and Annie ran toward her as the balloon fought with the wind.
Annie bent down to Jenny as Allie kept her eyes on the basket, terror engulfing her. She was watching as it rose slightly again, snagged in a tree and tilted, dumping out the three women still inside. Screaming, Allie ran toward the spot.

Cal and Jenny have a nearly idyllic marriage. There are rare trips across his lap for minor problems, but most of those trips are just for fun. Could that be changing? Pat feels that once Cal realizes she offers him a better option, he’ll choose her. But soon mysterious things begin happening to Pat. Is someone trying to run her out of town? Could that someone be Jenny?
Cassie and the whole river family try to keep Jenny occupied and out of trouble, but suspicions just go from bad to worse. Both Jenny and Pat want Cal and they’re willing to fight for him. How dirty will this fight get?
These ten books introduce Cassie. She is my friend and has been since she wandered into my imagination fifty-four years ago. She is married to Tom, the man who loves her in a way that makes my heart nearly burst with happiness for the two of them. He loves her, guides her, protects her and when necessary, spanks the fool out of her. I’ve been told that their adventures are exciting, funny and realistic. Their love-life is passionate and fulfilling – but you’ll hear no graphic details, Cassie is a lady and giving too much detail would not be proper.
Cal’s Law series
Cal and Jenny are one of my younger couple. The spanking in their relationship began mere minutes after they met, and Cal hasn’t let up much since. There relationship has it’s struggles, but these two are meant to be together. They live in the same town as Cassie and Tom and there is a lot of interactions among the character of both series. Jenny is not as reluctant as Cassie to openly discuss her sex life, so you’ll find a little more spice in this series.
On the River series
In this, my latest series, everyone is around – all the characters I’ve grown to love over the years are living on the area of the river that they call The Landing. Their lives, their adventures, even their spankings sometimes intertwine. By this time in the series, I’m just typing as my characters tell me what’s happening. And I love it!
I’ll close today with a review on the latest book. This is one of the finest reviews I’ve ever had.
Starting with the first Cassie book until now, I have never been disappointed or failed to wait expectantly for the next one.
