I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

I have to keep up.

I jumped in and did the meme early so I missed out on some good questions. I don’t like to miss out so I’m including these today.

Sunny's Question - Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

This answer should be simple, but it’s not. We’ve always
done Christmas with Nick’s family on Christmas Eve. This was established long before I joined the family. Then for most of my married life we had our Christmas morning for our kids here at home with my parents coming over for breakfast. Then we alternated years going to my sister’s Christmas afternoon or them coming here.

Now kids are scattered – and who gave permission for that, I’d like to know!

Christmas Eve is still with Nick’s family but now we don’t open much on Christmas morning. My sister and BIL come Christmas evening as they return from seeing their grandchild. We’ll have a Christmas dinner and open our gifts to one another.

‘Real’ Christmas is whenever the boys come from New York. This year it’s Jan 5th. We’ll do Christmas when Mollie gets here after work that day.

That made me tired just thinking about it all! But it is fun.

Abby's Question - Do you have a favorite Christmas decoration?

Another toughie. I have those the kids made when they were little. But Nick gave me this one and I really do love it. When you look inside the fire is flickering and a couple sits cozy on the couch.

Katie's Question - Pick something to talk to your spouse/partner about, related to spanky business during the holidays. What would it be?

Since Mollie has come with her gift of goodies from her kids, her love of cooking and the extra meals in our near future – I don’t think I’ll bring up spanking during the season.

Terpsichore's Question - Do you enjoy listening to Christmas music? Do you have a favorite song?

I do love to listen and I really love all Christmas songs. But I guess my favorite is ‘What Child is This?’

Amy Lynn - Do you have any home remedies to help a girl get over her cough and cold?

Yes! I saw someone suggest this on TV when everyone was talking about Hillary’s cough when she needed to campaign. Breath in deep through your nose and then forcefully blow the air out of your mouth – almost like you’re whistling. It’s
not a cure, but I’ve found it’s really helpful at times.

Also for me sipping on a carbonated drink helps, while sipping water makes my cough worse.

Ronnie - a.) colored or white lights? b.) your worst present?

We have colored lights on our tree now, but I love colored lights too.

Worse present? When I was 11, 12, and 13 one aunt gave me a full slip each year. I could not imagine a duller gift and I never wore slips anyway!

Rosie - Fairy or star on top of the tree?

We used to have an angel but I haven’t found her yet this year.

Meredith - What is planned for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners?

There’s supposed to be a plan? I’m frying chicken when my sister comes, because she like my chicken. That’s about as far as I’ve planned. It’s a little more difficult when the boys come because Collin is a vegetarian.

My Question - Has your Christmas tree ever fallen down?

No, but we did have it up in the play pen when the kids were toddlers.

  1. Hi Pk, I love the play pen, made me laugh, grandbaby keeps going up to the tree and gently touching a bauble and saying this is favourite one! She is a hoot a the moment. We are travelling back and forth between her and the other two and the nursing home. My hubby can't wait for it all to be over and we are back home and in peace, lol. Hope you have fun with all your different celebrations.
    love Jan, xx

    PK,
Loved your "new" answers........... Yes, I would like to know who gave permission for everyone to live so darn far away. we were with friends last year far from home and the meals were elegant and planned. That is not our style, but I loved being a guest.

    1. Boy it's not our style either! I love to see everyone, but casual is the way to go.

  7. We never did a play pen. I read somewhere that when you had toddlers, you should put up the tree when they weren't around. It worked. They never touched the tree. Too bad the cats didn't read the same article.

Thanks for being such a good friend!

    1. I've been amazed that Mollie's cat hasn't been up in ours. My yellow cat climbed it her first year, but she was gentle with it.

  8. Having lots of Christmas celebrations sounds like a lot of fun (and work). We put the tree up on a table one year but the play pen idea is good. Glad that you came back and answered the questions.

    1. Thanks, Blondie! Since we stay casual it doesn't feel like a lot of work. Mollie does a lot of the cooking these days.
