This isn’t a story of spanking, but know that fun short
spankings were sprinkled all through the week. It may not be real exciting, but
it was my favorite week in a long time.
Nick had this last week off – and it has been some week. It’s
what I expect retirement to be like, just going and doing as we like. Tuesday
Nick and I took an overnight trip to the mountains. Arriving around lunchtime we decided on ice
cream at a special shop that makes their own waffle cones, so that they are hot
when you order. I had blueberry cream pie ice cream.
Then we just drove around looking at the beautiful scenery
on the way to our hotel. Now this is a special hotel. When we left home it was 94 degrees, at the
hotel it was 72 degrees – they don’t even have A/C and they don’t need it. This was our deck and the view from it.
As you can see, no one is looking back at us so clothing on
the deck was optional; we opted not to wear anything.
We did dress for dinner and the dinning room had he same
view. And had some of the best ribs ever! We were feeling stuffed and headed
back to our room – no hanky-panky, too full. But we did have more naked
rocking, talking and reading. We were just happy being together and alone.
The next morning there was the hanky-panky and then, after a
wonderful breakfast, we headed off planning to hike to a waterfall in the area.
THE HIKE – let’s just say it deserves it’s own post.
We headed on home and the next day was spent helping Mollie
pack for her cruise – that was a whirlwind! But she’s cruising right now.
Friday afternoon we decided to head back to the mountains to
visit an old general store there. It was a lot of fun and I was surprised to
find that among there wears were some spanking toys.
After our shopping we headed to a beautiful picnic area we
go to often. We just sat by the stream and read in the cool mountain air for a
while and then ate at another fabulous restaurant before heading home. I
thought that would be the end of our great week, but Nick had one more thing in
mind and that night as darkness fell he invited me for a quite little moonlight
skinny dipping (moon wasn’t out, but I didn’t mind).
So many couples find that when their kids are grown that
they really don’t have anything in common and suddenly the marriage is over. I
credit TTWD with a great deal of our happiness. Whether we are actively
spanking or we’ve let it slip, it was still the catalyst that brought us closer
and I’ll be forever grateful.
Exactly, PK! When you said, "We were just happy being together and alone," I got a big smile and nodded my head. It is so true. Sometimes the happiness feels so big, I can't understand how it has happened.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fortunate to have your Nick. The mountains are beautiful, and it sounds like a wonderful trip for just the two of you. The swimming was just the icing on your cake.
TTWD is a gift to all of us lucky enough to know it.
Ella
I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't found the courage to come out to Nick and let him see the real me. I did a lot of hiding who I was for a long time. This is wonderful.
DeleteOh lovely trip PK, Ella is right , ttwd is a great gift to have given each other!
ReplyDeletelove Jan,xx
Truly the gift that keeps on giving.
DeleteA perfect little interlude......i wish you many more.

I think I enjoyed his week off as much or more than he did.
DeleteWhat a lovely antidote to the stresses and strains of work - and Mollie's away again...
ReplyDeleteWe follow a fairly light version of ttwd here at Casa Jones (no barn burners in our house) but, nevertheless, the benefits are immense.
Rosie xx
No barn burners here either - or very rarely, but even these milder versions are great!
DeleteHow lovely.Hope you enjoy this week too.
ReplyDeleteI hope so - I have an new idea for a book and while Mollie is away I'm actually going to try to get some writing done.
DeletePK,
ReplyDeleteCassie could not have had a better time!
Meredith
Thanks Meredith, I feel that's a great compliment.

It's great you are finding the joys of the empty next. So nice you are enjoying being alone together.
ReplyDeleteFD
So much better than I had imagined it.
DeleteThis sounds like such a fabulous trip! We still have time before the kids are gone but I can already see the difference in our marriage on how we relate to each other. I don't worry as much about the future (and if we would get along) like I used to. I'm so very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteI had worried too, Maggie. We were just pleasant roommates and I dreaded the children leaving. All this happened for us as our oldest was leaving for college. It was a wonderful surprise!
DeleteYou sound perfectly happy! I'm glad you both were able to get alone time and just be with one another!
ReplyDeleteThanks Minelle. I hope you'll have a great trip too.
DeleteSo very happy that you two got to enjoy your time alone...love that view from your room. ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings...Cat
sounds like a wonderful time together. happy you both had that time to cherish :-) hugs
