I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

The good, the bad and the ugly

I’m back to school soon. I thought it was time to get my thoughts together and see what I’m gaining and losing. Here goes.

The Good

  • 1.     I really like a lot of my colleagues and it will be good to see them again.
    2.     I enjoy the children.
    3.     The other teachers in my grade level seem to respect me and my opinions.
    4.     I’m one of the few who have been there long enough to speak the truth in teacher’s meetings – that’s fun.
    5.     I’ll be back to a schedule, and while I’m not crazy about that, it has its good points.
    6.     The sooner we start the sooner we’ll be done.

    The Bad

    1.     I have to get up to the alarm clock.
    2.     I have to wear shoes.
    3.     I have to wear long pants.
    4.     I have to wear a bra!
    5.     I can’t take naps at will.
    6.     The administration and I don’t get along.
    7.     I have to do so much stupid stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with teaching the children.
    8.     I don’t have time to write, and I do love to write.

    The Ugly

    1.     My married boss had an affair with the wife of his best friend who used to teach at our school. He will be ‘discussing the rumors’ with us at an upcoming meeting.
    2.     This is the man who told me I was wrong to tell my students my son is gay.
    3.     I didn’t respect him before, guess how I feel now?

Some good, some bad, I think for me the worse it having to wear a bra and shoes.

  1. Isn't it funny that those who judge most harshly, themselves fall from grace-- hard!

I only have one more week. Wearing a bra is a necessity for me no matter what. I need to harness the girls!

I love that you can tell the truth! We need that at those meetings!

Like you teaching the kids are what matters!

    1. I don't think he will dare say anything this year. At meetings I've found that as long as you speak politely you can say nearly anything.

  2. Hey PK...I agree that the worst is having to wear a bra and shoes...that is one of my favorite things about working from home...not having to wear a bra or shoes!

Wow! The ugly is super ugly! A married man breaking his vows with his best friend's wife and he has the audacity to say you were wrong for simply telling your students about your son?! Don't know how I could respect him.

Hope you have a wonderful school year!

    Hugs and Blessings...

    1. I have never been impressed with my boss in any way, but this shocked everyone. He told his wife it was a good thing he chose a friend because she loved their son as much as his wife did. If a man had said that to me he might not have left the conversation with all his original parts.

  3. Hi PK, that's a wonderful good list. It's great you are able to speak the truth in meetings. The worst part of going back to work for me is the early mornings and alarm clock.

    1. That alarm clock is not my friend! And I sure like my mid-morning nap.

  4. Pity Clint Eastwood can't ride in and rescue you from the bad and ugly. Focus on the first list and what you bring to the kids. They are the future.

    1. The good list is good and I really don't mind going back too much. Except for the bra and shoes.

  5. Oh Dear, the ugly really is ugly! What a shame you have to go back to it all. It seems like only a few posts ago you were just starting your holidays. How time flies

    1. I know all the people in his sorted mess and it's just sickening. But when he acted last year like I was 'wrong' to mention my son… He better not say a word this year.

  6. I think the worst would be having to listen to the a**hole about his affair.

Okay back to a bra and closed shoes wouldn't be good either.

    1. If I'm near the door I might walk out. But then again I'd like to report back to his wife exactly what he had to say.

A little late to the comment box here, but I love your lists. The bad and ugly lists are a great way to get it out and move on. A successful school year to you, PK. I am rooting for you.

  8. I wish I could be a fly on the wall at that meeting. How does someone address their affair?

Wishing you luck in dealing with the bad. I hate waking up to an alarm ... it's so jarring. I've thought about putting my bedside lamp on a timer so the light would gently start to wake me before the alarm, but have never gotten around to it.

    1. Waking up naturally is a true joy, one of the things I love about summer. I'll be sure and tell you all what he has to say.

  9. It's good that you are able to speak the truth. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in one of your staff meetings.

Can't believe you are going back to school already.

    1. I can't believe it either. I think he should keep his mouth shut. We've all heard it all summer already and we pretty much know what we believe. He is so disliked at our school no one really what to hear his side.

  10. I'm with you on the bra and shoes thing. And that "what time do I get to pee today?" question. Sigh. The things they never tell you when you are just getting started in teaching!

    Have a wonderful, magical year.

    Hugs!

    1. You hit this one, I may write a book on teaching at some point and the title will be, "When can I go to the bathroom and other difficult teaching questions"

  12. I would think in a small town everybody would know about the married boss? Doesn't his boss know? How does he keep his job?

    1. Excellent question. I have no doubt that if by books were to become know I would have heard from him, "You're always an educator and what you do away from school reflect on your reputation." Like to see him try to say that now. Some that have done this are demoted (like our vice principal), other are promoted, depends on where you stand in the good ol boy ring. His wife when to the school board and pretty much said 'don't you dare promote the SOB.' Suits me, I didn't want to break in a new one and I no longer have to pretend to like him.

    1. He is indeed. It's probably his rule that mandates shoes - he probably thinks bras are optional.

Hi PK, :) Hope that your lists helped you to feel better! You enjoy the children! They are the most important there. They are lucky to have you for their teacher- a real advocate and a wonderful person.

Here is this peach of a teacher working with the kids- you! And wow! And at the same time, who is the role model as your boss??? The man should be nowhere near any of the kids based on his example. That is truly ugly. I am glad that you are working with others that you enjoy. That should help you get through.

Sorry that you have to don the bra and shoes. It is so nice to not have to wear either. Wishing you wonderful shoeless and braless weekends ahead with tons of time for writing, naps and spatulas! ;) Big hugs sent your way to start the school year,

    <3 Katie

    1. I'll take your wish for my weekend, it sounds wonderful. Mollie will be home so probably not much spatula time - but I did get spanked three times last weekend so that should hold me.
