Welcome to Saturday Spankings! Today’s snippet is from Undercurrents on the River. Last week Cassie, Allie and Jenny walked in on their young friends Sophie and Ryder, almost fifteen and seventeen respectively, in a compromising situation. After giving Sophie a chance to gather herself she asked an interesting question, “If sex is so wonderful, why can’t we enjoy it like everyone else does. I’m on birth control and neither of us has a disease.” You can go back here to catch the beginning of this conversation. Here are Cassie’s thoughts.
Cassie realized nothing helpful was coming from either young woman, so she began. “Sophie, you’ve raised some excellent questions. Before I give you my answer, would you answer some questions for me?”
“Sure.”
“You’ve spent a lot of time with Christian. I know he’s not quite three, but do you think he’s smart?”
“Of course,” Sophie answered, a little puzzled at the question. “He knows all his letters and colors. He can count to 100. He plays UNO correctly. He knows his shapes too. I think he’s brilliant.”
“As his grandmother, I concur completely,” Cassie told her with a smile. “Last week he made a request that I think he presented with logic and reason. He wants to be able to play on the beach and in the river whenever he wants to, without the rule of having a grownup with him. He told me he knows the rules, and he won’t go out past his knees unless he puts on a lifejacket. Do you think we should let him?”
Sophie saw where Cassie was going, but she knew she could successfully argue the differences, so she answered Cassie truthfully. “No. It wouldn’t be safe for him. He’s too little to know how dangerous the river can be.”
“But he hears us talking about how wonderful the river is and how much we all love it. I can understand why he wants free access.” Cassie paused for a moment before continuing.
“Christian is as smart as any little boy I can imagine for his age. But he hasn’t yet acquired the wisdom he needs before going to the river alone. Right now, he just has to obey the rules and do as we all tell him. We’re asking you and Ryder to do the same.
“If you two decide to have sex, it would be impossible for any of us to stop you. There are too many cabins, boathouses, and backseats for us to police. The decision is ultimately up to you and Ryder. What we’re trying to say is this. Experts tell us the brain doesn’t reach full maturity until around age twenty-five. As intelligent as you two are, you don’t yet have the knowledge, the maturity and the wisdom to begin a sexual relationship. And we’re just asking you to trust us on this. I hope you will.”
Sophie looked at Cassie. She suddenly seemed younger and less confident than she had before. “You’re saying we get to decide?” she asked in surprise.
“Short of locking you in separate closets, I don’t think it can be any other way. But as people who love you and care deeply about you both, we’re asking that you wait and give it more thought. Don’t allow yourselves to get swept away in the moment.
Sophie nodded slowly, then asked, “But when will we be ready?”
“Only you’ll know that, but for right now I’d say give it at least two to three years. Yes, I know that sounds like a lifetime, but it’s not.” Cassie’s eyes twinkled as she added, “You’ll find that out when you’re my age and still enjoying this part of your life.”
“You mean you’re still…” Sophie began, then stopped as Cassie’s laughter rang out.
After a moment Sophie said, “Okay, I see what you’re saying. We’ll wait for now and talk about it. But do you have to tell Greatmom what you saw today? I know you all don’t like to keep secrets from each other, but I don’t want her to know.” Then she added with a little panic, “I really don’t want Lily to know!”
“I think we can keep this private,” Cassie agreed. “And I think it shows you have acquired some wisdom by not wanting Lily to know. Now go on and find Ryder. I know he’s worried. Let him know everything’s okay and tell him what we talked about.”
Sophie grabbed her phone and hurried out of the cabin. She stopped at the bottom of the steps and turned back toward them. “Thanks for not freaking out and for just talking and everything.”
Cassie, Jenny and Allie watched her go. Allie said, “You were great, Mom. You knew exactly what to say.”
“Sorry,” Jenny added. “I guess we weren’t a lot of help.”
“Oh, that’s not true,” Cassie said. “Actually, you were no help at all!” She shook her head in disgust.
“But Sophie’s right to want to keep this private. Lily… well if she found out we didn’t make her promise on her life to wait until she’s married, she’d probably whip us all!”
Book four in the On the River Series
Cassie and Tom are happy being grandparents, not that this distinction is calming Cassie down any. She is still loving her life with Tom and enjoying time with Sue and Annie. Other family members are moving to The Landing, with Drew and Jackson returning. And puppy love seems to have taken hold of Ryder and Sophie. After Ryder shares the ‘family secret’, that all the men on The Landing spank their wives at times, the young people try a little experimenting themselves. Is a third spanking generation in the making?
However, when Cassie falls into a serious depression, none of the extended family know how to help. She won’t talk to Tom or Sue about the cause and continues to sink deeper and deeper into herself. Cal has a suggestion to help, but Tom is a firm “No” to the idea. Will help come from a very unlikely source?
Cassie’s Space series
These ten books introduce Cassie. She is my friend and has been since she wandered into my imagination fifty-four years ago. She is married to Tom, the man who loves her in a way that makes my heart nearly burst with happiness for the two of them. He loves her, guides her, protects her and when necessary, spanks the fool out of her. I’ve been told that their adventures are exciting, funny and realistic. Their love-life is passionate and fulfilling – but you’ll hear no graphic details, Cassie is a lady and giving too much detail would not be proper.
Cal’s Law series
Cal and Jenny are one of my younger couple. The spanking in their relationship began mere minutes after they met, and Cal hasn’t let up much since. There relationship has it’s struggles, but these two are meant to be together. They live in the same town as Cassie and Tom and there is a lot of interactions among the character of both series. Jenny is not as reluctant as Cassie to openly discuss her sex life, so you’ll find a little more spice in this series.
On the River series
In this, my latest series, everyone is around – all the characters I’ve grown to love over the years are living on the area of the river that they call The Landing. Their lives, their adventures, even their spankings sometimes intertwine. By this time in the series, I’m just typing as my characters tell me what’s happening. And I love it!
These books do take you through time as it passes, but please don’t think you have to read them in order. Start anywhere. Just grab one and give it a try. If you are a spanking
I’ll close today with a review on the latest book. This is one of the finest reviews I’ve ever had.
Starting with the first Cassie book until now, I have never been disappointed or failed to wait expectantly for the next one.
