The empty nest – the impending horror of parents of young children everywhere, you know it’s real and you know it's coming. And let me tell you it comes sooner than you might expect. We had a preview this weekend when I let Mollie drive the two hours to her brother’s to visit with him and his friends and see his play. So let me give you a brief overview of what it was like.
Peacefulness
Naptime
Talking with Nick uninterrupted
Dinner for two at restaurant of our choice
Soft music in the bedroom
Blind fold
Cuffs
Warming oils
Leather paddle
Flogger
Leather hand fly swatter
Belt
Plug
Hitachi magic wand
Mutual satisfaction

The empty nest, I think we’ll be able to handle it.
PK, in other words, Paradise Found!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck :D
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.
To bad We wont have an empty nest anytime soon. Our daughter is 5. Glad that ya'll got to enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLynn Lane.
Sounds so rough....not sure I can handle it.
ReplyDeleteTry not to be too sad, I know how broken up you are to have an empty nest!
HUGS!

Paul,
ReplyDeleteI think you hit it right on the head.
Lynn,
I loved every stage of my kids growing up and I thought I would hate the idea of them leaving. I miss my son like crazy and I'll miss my daughter but as long as they keep in touch and visit often I think we're going to enjoy each other all alone for a while.
Grace,
You'll need support. When the time come I'll fly out to keep you company. I won't let you get lonely - I can even sleep with you and Bossman if you need me to. What are friends for??
I thought I'd have an empty nest by now but son decided cheaper to live at home and commute to work :(
ReplyDeleteSounds like you wont be too bored when Mollie has flown the nest :)
Love,
Ronnie
xx
We are approximately 5 months away from being empty nesters ourselves. We CANNOT wait! I think everything on your list is on our list, maybe a few variations here and there. As Flounder says in The Blues Brothers "Oh boy is this GREAT!"
ReplyDeleteRonnie,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure its coming for you in time i hope he at least has a schedule so you can be pretty sure of when he's libel to be away.
Mr/Mrs,
I see you agree it's not as bad as we once might have feared. Mollie will be around for another year or so but she is gone a lot. I think it's just perfect for easing us into this! LOL!
PK: I hate to say I told you so because that sounds so know it all but I think I've mentioned to you in the past that you'll miss the nesters but you'll find that an empty nest has its own pleasures.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you got a sneak preview.

PK, so glad you had a nice time.
