I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Blogging and friends

I think Bonnie does a great job letting everyone know about new blogs. She lists several new one a month and she is good to encourage everyone to drop by and make the new comers feel welcomed. It seems that there are more and more good blogs every day. But that in itself leads to a problem.

Lack of Time

What do you do when you want to read so many people, comment on so many sites and make friends with new bloggers? Everyone has to make choices that work for them. I posted a few days ago that I’m here for the contact with people - a back and forth discussion. When I find a blog I like I often go back and read some of the previous comments and I especially look to see it the blogger has answered their comments. If that’s not something the blogger has time for then I’ll still come and read but I won’t usually comment. I want to use my time for commenting to visit with someone who will have the time to visit back.

When I first began blogging it was at a wonderful time. It was summer and I had more time on my hands than usual. As it worked out the women I became close friends with at that time also had much free time that summer and we talked a LOT!! LOL! It seems we posted about EVERYTHING. We blogged, commented, commented on comments, we had on line parties, teased each other in our posts and in comments – it was a wonderful time here.

None of us have that kind of time right now but I still love coming here and visiting. I have also noticed that some great new blogs use comment moderation. Nothing wrong with that – especially if you have had any problems with tons of spam or unkind comments but if you haven’t had any problems you might consider taking it off. I know seeing a comment from others often encourages people to leave their own comment and talk back and forth to one another.

I pointed out an old post of mine to Florida Dom the other day about how friendships develop out here – or at least the way I saw it. He liked it and encouraged me to repost it so here it is for anyone who would like to check it out…

You know Connie and I are good friends. We talk a lot. In an email last week I mentioned that she probably knew me better than anyone since… Then I realized I couldn’t come up with anyone ever who has known me any better. I told her we were so close because of our backward friendship. What is a backward friendship you might ask?? It is what we all have here.

This is what I mean – think of some of your friends in real life. The ones you see socially, at work or at church, the ones you are close to. I bet some of these folks you have know for years, yet do you really know then. Tell me which ones can squirt when they orgasm? Which of them are anal erotic? Do any of them have a toy box with a variety of butt plugs Which of your friends enjoy the occasional golden enema??

Come on now you know these people! Which of your real life friends would rather not give a BJ and which ones can suck a bowling ball through a garden hose? Which of these friends always shave the kitty? And who are not allowed to shave under their arms? Come on now, do you know which of them wears grannies and which wear thongs?

Do your close friends in real life like to get their ass spanked?? If they do what are there reasons? Would some get there butt warmed for calling it their ass? Maybe for not cleaning the bathroom or taking out the trash. Possibly for keeping too many toys in their new closet. Could it be for gaining weight or maybe not keeping the kitty shaved? Maybe it’s for coming without permission. Or maybe they get their butt’s blistered because they love it and it makes them hot or maybe just for the hell of it!!!

If they are into spanking where all have they been spanked?? In the middle of the road in front of their house, under a tree? Maybe over a rock wall or a washing machine, in a car, in the shower, in a casino, in the woods, holding on to a step ladder, on a beach, in the mountains?

What are their favorite implements? Maybe a hairbrush, a crop, a flogger, a backscratcher, a cane, bungee or a tawse? Or maybe they are new to all this and are just trying to get their Significant Other to understand. Well come on, you know these people!! You see them all the time. So do you know the answer?? No? Gee, I could give you most the answers for my friends here!!

Backwards! Think about what we know about each other here and yet do we ask these question on blog – do you have children? How many? What are their names? What is your husband’s name? What does he do for a living? Where do you work? Where do you live?

Please, now you’re getting a little personal!!

  1. PK- thanks for the smile first thing this morning. It so true how much intimate stuff we know, but nothing really pertaining to our "real" lives. I have developed so many great friendships and it's true, it's hard to keep up with all, but I give it a good try. :)

  2. PK, I must say I prefer blogs that answer comments, then I don't feel that I'm talking to myself.
    Love and warm hugs,

  3. PK: Thanks for that reposting. I think some of the newer bloggers -- or those that forgot it -- will find it illuminating.

I can imagine you find it difficult to duplicate that feeling when you first started blogging and discovered this community.

And you're right that it is sometimes difficult to keep up with all the blogs you like. And I do agree that bloggers who get comments should shower their interest by commenting on them.

Sometimes, I'm more likely to comment on a blog that doesn't have many just to encourage them.

And if someone new posts a comment on my blog, I usually go to theirs and leave a comment.

Unless a person has been flamed, I don't understand the moderation thing either. This tends to be a supportive, fiendly community and you can always delete a comment you don't think it appropriate.

As usual, you have so much insight, PK.

  4. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I knew the answers to many of the questions you presented. Is there going to be a test?

    Oh yeah, there was!

Learning about TTWD was my main reason for beginning a blog. I had no idea I'd meet people, and become 'backwards friends' with them. Had it not been for the comments and the interactions, I might have left blogging after a few months.

I agree with FD, if a comment is not appropriate, spam, or hurtful, then delete it! Moderation inhibits the flow of conversation.

Now, how do we get Connie and Grace to give up the secret to Bouncing Balls?

    Love you!

  5. I'm not giving up my secret so don't ask LOL

Okay Twin, I gotta admit, I just am not into all this like I was when we met ... gosh was it really FOUR years ago? Wow. And I know how you feel about bloggers answering their comments and I swear, I'll try to do better however sometimes I just feel like I don't have anything worthwhile to say... it doesn't mean I don't love comments cuz I do. I just don't feel like I have anything to say in response... but I'll make an effort. Promise.

  6. It's very true that we tell the intimate details but keep the superficial day to day specifics to ourselves.

Why? Perhaps because the run of the mill details like number of kids, what your hubby does for a living etc. are not of interest, but spanking is. Then again, some of us don't want to divulge anything that might identify them to someone in their "other" life.

I agree, there are so many great new blogs, but I have a hard time visiting as many as I'd like to. And I often wonder why newbies don't reply to comments. They don't realize that they are turning away possible regular readers.

I hope Bonnie reposts an updated version of her four "Blogging 101" posts for new bloggers.

  7. now you really made me smile.. had to tell Guitarman what I was laughing about... and he just gave me 'that look' and said there are some things that are interesting to know about friends online but that he doesnt't wanna know about the neighbours... cause he could not talk seriously to the guy next door ever again... lol...

but then you do know his first name... Guitarman's that is... ;-)

    hugs, Lessa

  8. Hi, I'm grace and I am horrible at answering comments!

I KNOW...I should get better at answering them....

I am a terrible blogger! I've gotten lazy!

Ok....do I get any points for admitting I'm wrong?

Please? Forgive me! I'll try and do better....

  9. Well the one i can say for sure is nothing embarrasses me anymore!

  10. Katia,
I like knowing these things about my friends because I think it makes us closer. You need to have a group you can really talk to.

You and me both. I talk to myself quite enough!!

I guess it's was almost like a new relationship, like when you start dating when I first found all these people. But even though it's not brand new I still love meeting and sharing with new people out here.

I do remember every answer to who I was talking about back then. I think you and I would both do well on a test.

I loved the way we all teased and talked back then and I can feel it a little at times now.

But the bouncing ball question is driving me nuts and our sisters are not talking!

The 4 year thing is crazy isn't it.

I not worried when you don't comment I can talk to you any time but it the best way to get to know new people.

Of course we did 'meet' in comments!

I hope some of the new kids can get to know their readers by beginning some of these conversations. I know they will get more out of their blogs if they do.

LOL! I do know and he's right there are some things I don't want to think about when I see friends in the store buying ginger or wooden spoons!

    Ahhhh... Grace,
We'll give you a break since you've been sick (see you knew that would come in handy some day) and like Connie I'm lucky because if you don't answer my comment, or my email, I'll bug you by phone!

ROFL!! You got that right. We have heard it all!

  11. PK, I love your post.

There are so many great new blogs but I just don't have enough time to visit them but when I do find the time and leave a comment and it's not returned I tend not to pop back, that's a shame.
I have emailed a couple of bloggers to ask a question about a comment they have left me but haven't replied.

I was terrified when Bonnie first linked me but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I've made such good friends who I know I can talk with.

    Thanks PK.

  12. Ronnie,
You're right. I have always pictured us as a tight knit group of friends visiting at the back yard fence - okay our back yard happens to be the world but it works for me.

  13. PK, your blog has always been one of my favorites, but you're right, it's so hard to keep up. I enjoyed the relationship I formed with other bloggers and followers. It's fun to follow along with their spanking life, while not knowing the particulars of the boring everyday stuff.

  14. Hey Carly,
Great to see you around. Yep we have a nice little play ground here. It's fun to visit with folks that enjoy our kink - we understand each other.
