Welcome to Saturday Spankings! If you didn’t read last week’s snippet, click back here and give it a read. Very curious to question Cassie further, Allie waited for Lily to come back and join them.
When Lily returned, she took Sue’s chair and Allie sat on the bench looking at them both.
“What?” Cassie asked to their questioning stares.
“Missy, you jus’ accused your bes’ friend of murder. Do you really believe that?” Lily pressed her.
“I don’t know. That’s why I asked.”
“Mom, you’ve always said he died of a heart attack. Why would you think differently now?” Allie questioned.
“Oh, he died of a heart attack,” Cassie admitted. “I’m just curious what brought it on.”
“You think Sue put something in his wine that night?” Allie questioned.
Cassie shrugged.
“That don’t make sense,” Lily told her. “How would she know what to give him anyway? Y’all didn’t have no internet back then to look up everythin’ in the world. How would she know what to do if she wanted to? And how would she have got what she needed?”
“Yes, I guess you’re right,” Cassie answered without conviction.
“And you said that there was an autopsy,” Allie pointed out. “They would have checked his blood for drugs. If there had been some kind of poison, they’d have found it. Or are you saying the autopsy wasn’t that thorough?”
“Oh goodness, it was thorough all right. He was only forty-eight, had been in seemingly good health and was rich as could be. If there had been anything suspicious in the autopsy, I’m sure they would have come looking for me. In fact, the Chief Medical Examiner for the state insisted on doing the autopsy himself.”
“Was he crooked or lazy or somethin’? Why you doubt his findin’s?” Lily wanted to know.
“Oh heavens no! He was as upright as they come. No one would have doubted Dr. Waller’s word.”
“Well then, why would you?” Allie asked curiously.
“No reason, I guess. He was as good and kind a man as you’d ever find.” Cassie settled back in her chair. “But there was one thing…” Cassie had a thoughtful look on her face as she continued. “Did I mention that Dr. Waller was Sue’s grandfather? He raised her and adored her. He would have done anything in the world for her.”
Lily and Allie simply stared.
“I think I’ll take a walk,” Cassie told them, rising. Cassie was down the stairs and calling to Willow to join her and still Lily and Allie sat.
They both watched Cassie as she greeted Willow. Allie looked at Lily.
The afternoon was still and they could hear their lovely Cassie talking and laughing with Willow as she stood watching her river. Contentment and peace seemed to radiate from her in a way it hadn’t since the dreams had become more prevalent.
“Lily, I know they’ve been best friends forever, but do you think Sue would have killed for her?”
Lily sat quietly pondering the question. Finally, she spoke. “Reckon she really thought that man was gonna kill her? Maybe she… Honey, I don’t know. I just don’t know…” Lily answered.
Neither Allie nor Lily ever asked the question again and Cassie never again dreamed of Edwin.
These ten books introduce Cassie. She is my friend and has been since she wandered into my imagination fifty-four years ago. She is married to Tom, the man who loves her in a way that makes my heart nearly burst with happiness for the two of them. He loves her, guides her, protects her and when necessary, spanks the fool out of her. I’ve been told that their adventures are exciting, funny and realistic. Their love-life is passionate and fulfilling – but you’ll hear no graphic details, Cassie is a lady and giving too much detail would not be proper.
Cal’s Law series
Cal and Jenny are one of my younger couple. The spanking in their relationship began mere minutes after they met, and Cal hasn’t let up much since. There relationship has it’s struggles, but these two are meant to be together. They live in the same town as Cassie and Tom and there is a lot of interactions among the character of both series. Jenny is not as reluctant as Cassie to openly discuss her sex life, so you’ll find a little more spice in this series.
On the River series
In this, my latest series, everyone is around – all the characters I’ve grown to love over the years are living on the area of the river that they call The Landing. Their lives, their adventures, even their spankings sometimes intertwine. By this time in the series, I’m just typing as my characters tell me what’s happening. And I love it!
I’ll close today with a review on the latest book. This is one of the finest reviews I’ve ever had.
Starting with the first Cassie book until now, I have never been disappointed or failed to wait expectantly for the next one.
And, of course, the links -
Undercurrents on the River (book four)
Family on the River (book five)
Sunset on the River (book six)

It certainly is a very interesting question, what caused Edwin's heart attack. Sue being the granddaughter of the medical examiner makes it more so. Cassie and the gang sure do fiercely protect each other...
