Annie’s cries had quieted by the time Andy got ready for bed. He didn’t talk, hoping she was finally relaxed enough to get some sleep. Annie wasn’t sleeping, but she pretended to be. She couldn’t talk to Andy, not about this. She continued to feign sleep until one-thirty, then slipped silently out of bed. She dressed in the closet without turning on lights. She’d left her car in the driveway and her suitcase had been in it for days. All she had to do was write a note.
I should have written it before now. Why didn’t I? Because there is no way I can explain anything in a note. She tiptoed back to the bedroom door and looked at Andy with longing.
The desire to wake him and have him hold her, hold her tight and never let go, nearly overwhelmed her. This was going to hurt him deeply. But not as deeply as if she stayed and he learned everything.
It was time to go, now before she lost her nerve. Taking a notecard from the desk, she picked up the pen and wrote quickly. The card was shoved into the envelope and Annie scribbled on the front, To my family. Then she left, driving through the dark night into the unknown.

Lily woke around five. She was lying in bed saying her prayers for her family. Lord, look after Miss Annie. Help her tell us what’s hurtin’ her so and show us how to help her.
Lily didn’t want to wake Henry, so she quietly went from their apartment into Annie’s kitchen. She wanted a cup of coffee, then she had more praying to do. She saw the note on the island the minute she walked in and her heart gave a thump. She grabbed it up quickly and took it with her to the master bedroom, knocking lightly on the door, then pushed it open enough to see that Annie wasn’t in bed. She dashed to the bathroom to see if she was there. Not finding her, Lily ran to the bed crying, “Wake up! Miss Annie’s gone.”
Andy jerked awake. “What? What’s going on?”
Lily turned on the light. “She gone! Here read this,” she said shoving the note at him.
Andy snatched the note, tearing the envelope in his haste to read it. He read the words several times, trying to understand. Still utterly confused, he handed the note to Lily.
She took it with a shaking hand and read,
I’m not the good one.
Annie
These ten books introduce Cassie. She is my friend and has been since she wandered into my imagination fifty-four years ago. She is married to Tom, the man who loves her in a way that makes my heart nearly burst with happiness for the two of them. He loves her, guides her, protects her and when necessary, spanks the fool out of her. I’ve been told that their adventures are exciting, funny and realistic. Their love-life is passionate and fulfilling – but you’ll hear no graphic details, Cassie is a lady and giving too much detail would not be proper.
Cal’s Law series
Cal and Jenny are one of my younger couple. The spanking in their relationship began mere minutes after they met, and Cal hasn’t let up much since. There relationship has it’s struggles, but these two are meant to be together. They live in the same town as Cassie and Tom and there is a lot of interactions among the character of both series. Jenny is not as reluctant as Cassie to openly discuss her sex life, so you’ll find a little more spice in this series.
On the River series
In this, my latest series, everyone is around – all the characters I’ve grown to love over the years are living on the area of the river that they call The Landing. Their lives, their adventures, even their spankings sometimes intertwine. By this time in the series, I’m just typing as my characters tell me what’s happening. And I love it!
I’ll close today with a review on the latest book. This is one of the finest reviews I’ve ever had.
Starting with the first Cassie book until now, I have never been disappointed or failed to wait expectantly for the next one.
And, of course, the links -
