Welcome to Saturday Spankings. I’m still using snippets from Family on the River. Today the ladies are lounging by the pool at the clothing optional resort – Cassie and Sue in their birthday suits, all the rest in bathing suits.
“I’ve been sitting too long,” Cassie said rising to her feet. “I’m going to get a drink. Can I get you girls anything?” Each shook her head no and Cassie headed to the bar. They watched her go, still amazed at the graceful and dignified way she maneuvered through the area in the buff.
Having gotten used to people averting their eyes most of the time, Allie’s attention was caught by a man walking toward Cassie. He was staring at her as if to memorize her. Allie turned to the girls and whispered, “Watch that guy.”
Cassie passed the man and headed to the bar when he called to her, “Cassie?”
She turned and looked at the man questioningly. She was looking into his face, truly the only safe place to look at a clothing optional resort. After a moment, she said, “Bart?”
For a moment Allie feared that they were going to embrace but instead they quickly held out both hands and clutched them. The girls could hear them talking. “Cassie, oh my God, I can’t believe it’s you. How long has it been?”
Cassie gazed into his face in amazement. “It has to have been more than fifty years,” she told him. “What a wonder we still recognized one another.”
“You haven’t changed a bit,” the man exclaimed.
“And you’ve become such a charming liar,” she told him with a smile.
“Please come and meet my family.” He eagerly followed Cassie over to the area where her friends sat. He pulled up a chair for himself and as he sat, he laid the towel he was carrying in his lap, much to the girls’ relief.
Cassie introduced Annie, Sue and the girls to Bart Winters. He smiled politely at each woman, but it was easy to see he had eyes only for Cassie. Ignoring the rest of the women, he asked, “Cassie, I can’t believe it’s you after all these years. I’d so like to get caught up. Would you join my wife and me for dinner this evening? I’d love to visit and I’d love for you to meet Gloria. She’s heard so much about you.”
Turning a puzzled frown on the man, Cassie asked, “Why on earth would your wife have heard about me?”
“I’ve told her about you. You’re a hard woman to forget.”
Cassie’s puzzled look was turning into one of bewilderment. “Please,” Bart was pushing, “say you’ll join us for dinner.”
“Umm… I … no,” she managed to say. “This is our last evening here and I want to dine with my family.”
The man looked crestfallen. After a moment he suggested, “What about drinks before dinner? You could join us in our suite for a private visit.”
All three girls turned blazing eyes on Cassie. Their looks screamed “NO!” louder than anything spoken. Sue, never known for her tact, asked, “And exactly why do you want to get Cassie to dump us and go off alone with you?”
“I’m sorry,” Bart looked truly shocked. “I didn’t realize how that sounded. It’s just that I truly want to talk about old times with her—things I’m sure the rest of you would have no interest in. And there are things I’ve been wanting to ask Cassie for half a century.” Turning back to Cassie, he asked again. “Please say yes. My wife and I will happily meet you in the bar. It’s just that I may never see you again.”
“All right,” Cassie said abruptly. “I’ll meet you both in the bar at six this evening. I will expect her to be with you,” she insisted.
“Oh, Gloria will be there. She wouldn’t miss this for the world! It was wonderful meeting you ladies.” And with that, he headed to the far side of the pool area, leaving the ladies alone and full of questions.
Everyone turned to stare at Cassie. “What?” she asked defensively. When they said nothing, she went on. “That was Bartholomew Winters. A friend from a long time ago. You know I have a curious nature. I’d like to know why he still remembers me after fifty years. And I’d like to know what questions he’s been holding onto for that long.”
“The question is pretty obvious. He wants to know if you’ll go to bed with him. I think he would have taken you right here if we hadn’t been watching,” Jenny snapped. “What a creep!”
“You have lost your mind,” Cassie told her. “I appreciate you not noticing, but I’m an old woman. I’m most grateful that Tom still wants me, but I don’t think anyone else is lusting after me.”
“He’s an old man!” Lane interjected. “And he definitely has the hots for you. Did you see the towel moving? It was hiding a damned boner!”
Cassie threw back her head and laughed, though no one joined her. “You girls are doing wonders for my ego. But I doubt the man wants me to meet his wife so that he can invite me to his bed. Get a grip.”
Cassie is busier than ever with her growing number of grandchildren. And she’s delighted to learn another is on the way, though the news comes from a very unexpected source. Spending time with the grands and working at the shelter home she created takes up much of her time. Even with all this, she manages to sneak in time for a girls’ trip. Both the location of the trip and a chance encounter with an old friend cause Tom’s spanking hand to itch.
When a severely beaten woman shows up at the Shelter, she inadvertently brings Cassie and Sue into a dangerous situation. Will Cassie be around to welcome this new grandchild?
Family on the River continues the heartwarming and often humorous story of Cassie’s life.
Cassie’s Space series
These ten books introduce Cassie. She is my friend and has been since she wandered into my imagination fifty-four years ago. She is married to Tom, the man who loves her in a way that makes my heart nearly burst with happiness for the two of them. He loves her, guides her, protects her and when necessary, spanks the fool out of her. I’ve been told that their adventures are exciting, funny and realistic. Their love-life is passionate and fulfilling – but you’ll hear no graphic details, Cassie is a lady and giving too much detail would not be proper.
Cal’s Law series
Cal and Jenny are one of my younger couple. The spanking in their relationship began mere minutes after they met, and Cal hasn’t let up much since. There relationship has it’s struggles, but these two are meant to be together. They live in the same town as Cassie and Tom and there is a lot of interactions among the character of both series. Jenny is not as reluctant as Cassie to openly discuss her sex life, so you’ll find a little more spice in this series.
On the River series
In this, my latest series, everyone is around – all the characters I’ve grown to love over the years are living on the area of the river that they call The Landing. Their lives, their adventures, even their spankings sometimes intertwine. By this time in the series, I’m just typing as my characters tell me what’s happening. And I love it!
I’ll close today with a review on the latest book. This is one of the finest reviews I’ve ever had.
Starting with the first Cassie book until now, I have never been disappointed or failed to wait expectantly for the next one.
And, of course, the links -
Undercurrents on the River (book four)
Family on the River (book five)
What an interesting encounter. Have to laugh at the conversation after Bart left. I don't blame the girls being suspicious. I'm curious too. They are at a clothing optional resort, perhaps he and his wife are swingers lol.
