When did Nick and I become ‘precious’? I’m well aware of the
different stages of life: childhood, youth, young adult, adult, middle age,
mature, senior and finally somewhere up there, elderly. But there is a new age
and I think it must be somewhere between middle age and mature. Mollie’s
college friend’s parents are way younger than we are, we’re nearer the age of
their grandparents. So is seems that everything we do now is ‘precious’ to her roommates. The fact
that I write is ‘precious’, the flat cap that Nick wears is ‘precious.’ Nick
and I merely roll our eye and try to not to lean too heavily on our walkers
when we visit.
Mollie sometimes jumps on the bandwagon. She called us Friday while we were at the library. She
wanted to know what we were doing there and I told her we were picking up a
couple of books to listen to as we drive to Florida. Her response, “That is so
sweet. What a cute little old couple thing to do.”
What the hell?
I’ll have her know (well I won’t, but I could) that this
cute little old couple had some hot monkey sex later that afternoon. I got my
ass spanked with the leather strap, the tawse and some cruel wooded implement I
didn’t even see, all the while cuffed to the bed! Cute little old couple my
butt. We’re as hot and kinky as anybody! And we are not precious!
Haha, I doubt very much she would think THAT was precious! Although, I do think that my parents are precious as well, and I mean it in the true sense of the word--a couple who is still in love and still enjoy doing things together after many, many years of marriage is a precious thing that is to be treasured and admired. It is, unfortunately, rare to see, so when we young people see it, it is like looking at a rare gem :)
ReplyDeleteAutumn, that's true I know and you are kind to point that out. I don't mind her feeling that way about us, I guess as long as we know the whole story.
DeleteROFLMBO!
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings...

Glad you are amused! LOL!
DeleteHilarious! Absolutely hilarious! This is my favorite post of yours.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anon, interesting to know how your kids feel.
DeleteI see where you're coming from, I really do. But just think, the "precious" that they see is actually just a couple in love. It's pretty rare these days for a college aged kid to get to see her parents, or anyone's for that matter, still married AND in love! So just pat yourself on the back for setting a good example and hope that when her daughter does the same to her, she's even younger! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks and I know you're right. I am glad they, Mollie included, can see that we are still in love AND that we like one another too. Hope I'm still around to see my daughter described as precious by my granddaughter!
DeleteROFLMAO, that is so funny PK. I too bet Mollie wouldn't find that precious lol
ReplyDeleteHugs
Roz
You're right Roz! Finding out that might fry her brain so that she would never think again!
DeleteOh that is funny. If she only knew.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Ronnie

Oh the horror - for us all.
DeleteMy daughter informed us a long time ago that she "needs" to only think of us having sex once just to get her, and that is the only way she can keep from thinking "ewwwww".
ReplyDeleteHow silly that kids fee this way - of course MY parents only had sex twice (I have a sister), but I'm sure other people parent's had sex often.
DeleteAhh...our kids perception of us is sometimes 'precious'!
ReplyDeletehugs abby
I guess it's really not such bad thing after all.
DeleteOh, to be so naive. I will be happy to tell her the truth if you like!
ReplyDeleteNO! You stick to teaching her how to cook.
DeleteI am a good multi tasker, I could fill her in WHILE I'm teaching her how to cook.
DeletePK,
ReplyDeleteoh yes you are, to me at least, lol!
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.
From you I'll take it, Paul.
DeleteIgnorance is bliss... for your sake!
ReplyDeleteYou said it.
DeleteLaughing - do you hear it?
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd love it.
DeleteNobody likes the think about their parents ever having hot monkey sex. Parents only have sex to have kids and then it's over. At least that is how I like to think about MY parents anyway. Me and my husband of 31 years are a different story, and there is nothing precious about it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, PK.
Kaki,
DeleteI know my parents only did it twice, but they were, you know - old! I guess all and all I don't mind her thinking we're precious.
You are not precious. You are a hot horny couple that has hot monkey sex and hotter spankings. And you great parents to boot and can be proud of your kids.
ReplyDeleteFD
You said it FD - everyone listen to this man.
DeletePrecious? LOL. If she only knew! For some reason I don't think our kids could handle the truth.
ReplyDeleteOh Amyee, I don't think they could either.
DeleteFunny!! I never got weirded out that my parents had sex... Didn't dwell on it...but that's a sign of a happy couple!
ReplyDeleteBut my kids are not as enlightened! Lol they do not want to even suspect...
Holding hands... Kissing, hugging even spanking is okay... Just not sex! Lol
Mollie wants none of it, kissing, hand holding, certainly no spanking and never sex!
Delete"Precious": (of an object, substance, or resource) of great value; not to be wasted or treated carelessly or to be greatly loved or treasured by someone. If you read the definition...it isn't such a bad thing is it? You can be precious and still be kinky and have hot sex...just saying... :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Terps, that definition does make it sound a lot better.
DeleteLaughing so much it is hard to comment!
ReplyDelete- What is HOT MONKEY SEX?!!! Do I want to know?!!! LOL!!!
- I think over here the term "precious" is a bit different. For example, if you cleaned your floor and then your grandkids ran all over it and you yelled at them, that would be "precious". I am most definitely NOT precious - I couldn't give a f----- f---!
- Hmmm, I knew my parents had sex - I could hear them, plus my mum and me used to "talk" about all sorts of stuff. Perhaps it was a benefit of being an 'only'.
- Our daughter knows exactly what she has to retrieve and get rid of if every anything happens to us! She is very nonchalant about it.
- Our son thinks his conception was 'immaculate' and cringes, puts his fingers in his ears and sings "la la la" any time anything vaguely sexy that has to do with us, is mentioned.
- Do you realise how much I envy your exciting life at times, PK?!!!
This is your jealous friend signing off...
Hugs
Ami
Ami - dull sex, man on top, woman on bottom, get it over with quick.
DeleteHot monkey sex - anything goes, make all the noise you want, play with toys, change positions, get spanked, change up who's on top, anything you want to try for as long as you want to try it!
I think my son would be more likely to come in and take stuff out and not bat an eye. Not my daughter yet.
All and all I'm not sure how exciting my life is - but I do enjoy it.
Probably the funniest post you ever wrote. You could write a book with this material or at least a short story.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patty! Sometimes my life tickles me.
DeleteToo funny PK loved this entry just what I needed this morning a good laugh thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at life, sometimes it seems I'm living in a comedy.
Deletehahahhahha I am dying. That is hysterical. We are also in that odd phase. Thankfully, we are not called precious, I would not be happy. But, recently Bob who was traveling, had to take one of those airport buses between parking lots and the airport and he was absolutely mortified. He said a girl about the age of our daughter offered her seat on the bus, so he wouldn't have to stand. He mumbled, sighed and died a little for two days. I tried, I really truly tried, to not laugh. But I would hear him take a deep breathe and moan and knew he was reliving the moment again. You made my day.
ReplyDeleteMegan, I guess were all going to have to get used to these things - but I would have laughed at my husband too. We've been mistaken for out kids grandparents several times. It doesn't really bother me, but it annoys Mollie.
DeleteHA! Love this post, made me laugh... You go girl! :0)
