I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Still here, I think

Sigh…

What a week.  Mollie got here last Saturday, LJ and Collin got her Tuesday.  They all loved the kitchen.  LJ was truly blown away since he had no idea any of it was going on.  Mollie had known but they were all suitably impressed.  Everyone worked on getting the last minute things for the reunion.  And we all enjoyed visiting.

The rest of the family came after lunch Saturday.  They had all watched my kitchen slowly deteriorate over the last 20 years so they all enjoyed the surprise too.  We had about twenty-five at the reunion this year.  Only four from my parent’s generation were able to come, there are only seven left at all.  But we all had such a great time.  There are two main events at our reunions – eating and talking.  Man, we are so good at both things.

Most were able to come back for Sunday lunch – that’s the day I cook.  It all turned out really well.  Guess that means my cooking is done for the year. Most folks headed home after three and Mollie had to head back to camp. I’m taking the boys to the airport this morning.  I guess it’s going to seem quiet at the house for a while.  But that won’t be so bad.

PK hasn’t been around much.  She’ll drift back soon, she always does.  Badass doesn’t even talk to me any more.  Wimpy is satisfied with the status quo.  Okay, that’s not exactly true; Badass has been talking to me a lot.  I’ve been ignoring her.  Maybe as I have a chance to think and write I’ll start listening again.  I’m so glad I had this week with the whole family.  I needed it. But I need to be PK again too.

I start school on Wednesday, but I hope to be around here more.

  1. All our good wishes for the weekend have worked!
I bet everybody was as impressed with the kitchen as with the sight of seeing the Lady of the house cooking herself.
Strange thing, Badass seems to be afraid of people, but now everybody is gone, I suppose we're going to hear from her!
If you meet PK, tell her to stay close from now on. No more drifting away.
I still think it's unfair to end summer vacation only a few days after it has started.

  2. Eating, talking, and groaning about how much you've eaten? ;) Sounds like a great family reunion.

Best of luck with your back-to-school week!

  4. PK: Nice that you had such a good reunion but I look forward to PK being back blogging and now that you have an empty house, maybe you can keep Badass quiet with some good spankings.

  6. Wonderful your kids were able to get there early for alone time with both of you! Food and conversation into the night I bet.
I hope PK comes around and... as to Badass....
School, well onward I guess. Take all the happiness of this past weekend, it should cushion the landing at school.

  8. Great that all went so well and everyone was suitably impressed with the kitchen.

Sorry about having to go back to school already - it seems as if you just let out - I'm sure you feel that way also.

Glad the kids got home and your relatives were able to make the trip to celebrate your cooking skills.

    Nice to have you back.

  9. How wonderful everything went so well. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Now stop ignoring badass and bring PK back, lol. I hope the transition to school starting will go smoothly for you. I'm having a hard time believing myself that summer is almost over :(

  12. Bas,
If it was all the good wishes that helped make this weekend great, then I sure hope you’re sending double good wished for the school year.

They did love the kitchen, but they are all here the one time a year I cook, they think I do it all the time. Got them fooled!

Now Badass gets really bitchy when I ignore her and she won’t speak to me for a while. When I give her some attention, she’ll be back.

    Ana,
It was the best reunion! And by having it here, we get to keep the leftovers! Thanks for the luck, I’m gonna need it.

    Paul,
Thanks we did! And I hope so too.

    FD,
I really miss PK and Badass more than you can know. I’m afraid that eventually they’re going to give up on me and leave permanently.

    SNP,
It was great fun, not so much for the diet, but great fun.

    Minelle,
I loved the time with the kids! Hoping for the return of PK and Badass and totally ignoring the looming school year.

    Abby,
    Oh, I hope you’re right!

    Sunnygirl,
It does seem like I just got out – man I long for retirement! It was great having the gang here.

    Faerie,
It’s crazy isn’t it? I’m really trying to bring them back.

    Stormy,
Now wouldn’t that be a fun time! Of course, I bet I’d like the results more than you would!

    Mrs. Soft Bottom,
Thanks, I’ll enjoy it – but the peace and quiet will only be Tuesday, Wednesday it’s back to school.
