I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Mollie reads my first three chapters

As I told Ronnie in my comments yesterday, the trip got off to a rocky start. It normally takes five hours to get from home to here. Had that worked out we would have arrived around seven thirty PM.  But less that an hour from home we ran into a nearly three hour traffic jam. NOT FUN! We finally got here at ten forty-five only to find that they had our reservations for June 28th and they had all ready charged a ‘no show’ charge to my credit card.

Thankfully they had plenty of rooms and the guy at the desk was a really nice guy. He didn’t even put us in the system – which would have added more fees and taxes. We’ll just pay what was all ready charged to us for the no show and call it even.

Now back to Mollie – she was bored during the long traffic jam so I told her she could read those three chapters I gave her and she did just that. I could hardly keep my eyes on the road for glancing to see where she was. Good thing we were going less than a mile an hour.

Her only comment when she finished was, ‘Well, now I need more.’ I laughed and told her she could buy it in December.  I waited a while and said ‘Your aunt said she like Cassie, but she didn’t think much of Tom. Do you agree?’

She said, ‘Well, like I said, I need to read more.  I’m not sure I like that he spanked her since she had that crappy husband before.’

I told her that they were still happily married forty years later and that he still spanks her. But she didn’t say much more. I’m going to send her the piece where Cassie explains why this works in their marriage. But I’m not going to say much more about it now. Questions will come up a few at the time and I’ll answer as she asks them.  But all and all I’m pretty happy with her response.  She read a little, and didn't she leap from the car and go screaming into the night. What more could I ask for?

  1. Whew! I was sitting here telling Nick the situation and that I was about to read this post to find out how it went. I'm so relieved she reacted well!

    1. Sunny,
As she reads more she's going to realize that spanking is the overriding theme. I'm not sure she fully realized it quite yet.

  4. Hey PK...when all is said and done, Mollie is your daughter...loving and tolerant. Good job!

It doesn't sound as if she's totally adverse to spanking...her comments were more because of Cassie's previous husband. But even if she doesn't 'agree' with spanking, she's definitely not judgmental.

Will be very interested to hear what she thinks after she reads Cassie's explanation.

    Blessings,
    Cat

  5. PK, I'm so happy to hear Mollie reacted well and that she said she needs more. That's wonderful! It must feel so good to be able to talk to her openly about something that is very dear to you.

I too will be interested to hear what she has to say after she reads Cassie's explanation.

I'll print it off for her soon, she doesn't like to read on the computer. I don't know if she'll bring it up right away or not.

  6. I'm so far behind around Blogland that your cliffhanger was instant gratification, PK! :). I am really happy to hear that Mollie was open and matter of fact and accepting of your first three chapters! I'm guessing that you kind of knew she would be. :). Wonderful!!!

LOL! It's a good thing that you were in that traffic jam as she was reading. Watching her face must have been so nerve wracking.

I'm looking forward to hearing what she thinks of the part that you will give her next! Hugs!

That was the only good things about that long wait - I knew she read it and I could ask a few questions. Otherwise she might not ever have mentioned it, at least not for a long time. She can be funny about talking about things. She often keeps her own council.

You know as I think about things now days kids 25 & under have grown up in such a different culture seeing such diversity, learning things that we were close minded to.. so I'm not surprised that she wasn't shocked..That's funny she wanted to read more...Ha maybe some day she will join us in TTWD lol

That could be, but somehow I don't think so. I know she was always opened and accepting of her brother. I think that's helped.

Pk I am sorry that you had such a problem with the trip.
I hope it was the last negative on this trip and that everthing is just fine now.

The first question that came up in my head when I read about Mollies reaction was: How does she know that spanking exist and that a man can spank his wife? Is it something that is tolerated where you live, people will know about it?
If I had to explain to my children, I would have to first say what a spanking is. Then what happens to be spanked and then answer a lot: Why at all would anyone think of the horrible thought to spank someone, it must hurt .... lol ... (I think that they'd understand erotic spanking, for pleasure and enjoyment, I think ..)

Oh my, I see that cultural differences are huge, bigger than I thought before.
America is a young continent, you have a lot to learn from us in the Old Europe .. (ok, PK, this was a skämt.lol ...)

    Have a great time!

    1. Mona,
Every single child reared in the southern US know exactly what a spanking (or switching, or whuppin') is. Both my kids were spanked a bit as was I growing up. For them a 'spanking' consisted of a pop on the butt if ran to the road or were extremely rude. Maybe twice each in their life time.

But it is still somewhat accepted for children to be spanked here. In fact it's still allowed in my school. Paddlings were frequent in school as I was growing up, at the teacher's discretion . Now it's rarely used - I've never paddled in school. It was really on the way out as I began.

I wasn't positive what skämt was, but I guessed correctly! (joke)

  13. Mollie didn't go get out of the car and run away screaming - to have our children grow up to be open minded, tolerant, receptive to others' opinions and creative ideas, these are the best things which a parent could wish for.

You're right there. As I said she has always been so tolerant and accepting of her brother and his friends, I guess that leads to acceptance of many things.

  15. Glad Mollie enjoyed what she read. I was on tenterhooks! All my girl knows is that I am writing "on the edge" and she is okay with that, but my son doesn't want to know - he's too embarrassed.

I so hope you have a good time with your girl PK. The traffic jam sounded awful. Traffic jams are soooo boring. Glad you get them in the US - I would hate to think we were the only ones!

Mollie would have been the most likely to be bothered by it. LJ will probably find it amusing. Although he is big on equality and might not like Tom's bossy ways.

  19. You must be so proud of her that she isn't judgmental. But I think our society is becoming more open. Think of all the women who aren't into spanking or BDSM and enjoyed 50 Shades. I doubt she is into spanking herself. It's not like it is inherited. And the younger generation of very accepting of gays. Anyway, you can pat yourself on the back for raising such great kids.

I do think the young are less judgmental. I'd like to think that Cassie's Space will appeal to vanilla people because of the love story part and I know many women have some of these desires, yet would NEVER admit it.

  20. PK, I'm glad Mollie was open-minded about your first three chapters. I re-read your old posts, and I think she may only think of it in a remote way, as purely fiction. After she reads the entire book, she may wonder how you can be so creative to "think up" all of the spanking and other dd-related interactions. If she asks, I'm sure you have your answers as ready for Mollie as Cassie did for Allie. ;-)

I think it will slowly dawn on her that spanking is the theme of my writing - and eventually she is going to realize that it's what I have in common with all these new friends I've made on line over the past seven years. That will give her food for thought.
