I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Long weekend

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  In general, teachers tend to love November.  We get several short weeks and I do all I can to stretch it out.  I'm taking tomorrow off – a (hopefully) quick doctor visit and then it’s off Christmas shopping.  To rest up from all that, we have Tuesday off. Our school is used as a polling place.  So I plan to enjoy my four-day weekend!

Only problem is that I’m not feeling the Christmas shopping vibe yet. I usually do by now, I hate to shop after Thanksgiving because I don’t like crowds.  But I got nothing!  Christmas is different once the kids are grown.  I still love it don’t get me wrong.  But LJ and Colin won’t come until early in Jan. And this year my niece also moved to NYC and works as assistant stage manager for a current production so she won’t be home either.  This is sad for Mollie since she will be the only ‘child’ at the Christmas gathering.  I know everyone goes through these adjustments as your kids grow up, but for me it’s a little harder to get into the sprit, maybe doing a little shopping Monday will help.

No spanking news to report. A few swats, and quick hand spankings, but no real ones.  And while I miss it, I’m just fine. I really do go in cycles; I get totally obsessed and can think of nothing else.  I get mad a Nick for not spanking enough, I come here and bitch and complain and feel sorry for myself until I just want to quit.  Then Nick finally steps in and does something and all is well again.

I’m in my 'quite content' stage at the moment.  I mean I always want more spanking, but I’m fine.  And I really think when I begin to feel that downward spiral I’ll ask Nick for another intense session.  It helped enormously!  My only complaint is that if we don’t do some spanking regularly I don’t know if I’ll be able to take all I need to get it out of my system.  Oh well, not really a major life problem, so I won’t worry much.

And now for one of my favorite parts of a long weekend, I’m going to settle back and see if Cassie will talk to me.  I honestly never know, if she’s out having a good time there’s no telling when she’ll check in!

  1. PK,
enjoy your long week-end, hopefully the Christmas spirit will return.
Most of the people that I know, that express an opinion, are rooting for Mr Obama.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him and the USA.
The other one is just bad news.
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

  5. Enjoy your down time! It's the opposite here and November will be hectic.

  6. I like Faerie's comment-ha, ha. But, do enjoy your time off. Holidays are tough when everyone is in a different city and different schedules. We also tackle this in our family. It will work out, but it is an adjustment. Hugs.

  7. Enjoy the double weekend.
Pour Cassie a glass of wine (maybe 2) and all will be going smoothly.

No Christmas shopping for the kids means you will have to concentrate more on presents for yourself.
    How bad can that be?

  8. Enjoy your long weekend. Hope Cassie drops by to visit. I hate dealing with crowds too so I also try to get it done earlier. It's usually doubly hard for us because we have to allow for shipping, either us or them.

  9. Christmas wil be different for our family this year, too. We will all be away, together, but not at home, with my late Mum's china and stuffing recipe.
I don't have any presents to buy because the trip is our present, so I won't miss that....but in a way I will.
I know what you mean about the kids growing up....I loved those mornings with paper everywhere and the squeals of joy. The new toys emanating their plastic smells throughout the house, or the new X-Box battle blaring up from the basement.....
I hope we aren't all in tears on the beach.
    hugs
    lillie

  10. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year! I am reall a traditionalist when it comes to this holiday. When the dishes are being washed after Thanksgiving dinner everyone knows Aunt Minelle starts everyone, all 35 immediate family singing Christmas.Carols! It continues through the season. In the past I have photocopied all the words to each song.
However I am reluctant to see how much it costs us come January!
I sure hope Cassie visits often this weekend! Get her some wine and take notes! It makes my day when I see sh has visited!

  11. Enjoy your November! :) As for the content stage, it seems like a decent stage to be in - and hopefully when you need that intense session, it will happen.

  12. that content feeling is lovely isnt it. Im happy for you. Can you not ask Nick to spank you on a regular basis - like maintenance - on a regular day every week rather than let it build up?
Have a lovely long weekend, I dont think we have any now until Xmas, and speaking of xmas Im super organised and have just about done it all this year - for a change hehehehe :) im super pleased with myself
    love and hugs kiwi xx

  13. Paul,
I’ve already voted for Obama, please keep those fingers crossed!

    FD,
It’s a good place to be.

    Roz,
I’m hoping for it. I think the shopping will help.

    Faerie,
If you have working in your plans then, yep, mine’s better.

    Ana,
I’m glad I get three short weeks in Nov.

    SNP,
We were very lucky when we got married that Nick’s family was all here and my sister was only a couple of hours away. It’s tough when the kids are gone, but we’ll get used to it I’m sure.

    Bas,
Cassie and I have been talking, but it’s going to be a while before she’ll be talking to everyone else. But at least she’s talking to me! Yep, give that woman some wine and she’ll go on forever!

    Sunny,
I do more and more shopping on line too. It’s not as good for getting you in the mood, but it’s cheaper and more convenient.

    Lillie,
Different isn’t bad, it’s just different. Once the things of my childhood were gone, I’ve learned to accept the changes. Sometimes the changes are a little sad, but I still love Christmas.

    Minelle,
So you see? If you weren’t there to get things started things would be totally different for everyone!

    Brat,
I know the need will return, it always does and at least now I think I’ll recognize it and I won’t mind asking for it.

    Kiwi,
I can, but I usually don’t. Read my post tomorrow. We do get a lot of time off between now and Christmas and I love it. We don’t get off much in Jan, Feb, and March.

  14. PK, you are in a great place. Being content is good. I am always a basket case during the holiday season and I don't think that there are enough spankings that I could receive to calm down. Hope that Cassie speaks. Have a fun couple of days off. Go Obama!

  15. Enjoy your long weekend. It's probably because it's too early to think of Christmas shopping yet.

Same as Paul, most of the people I speak to want Obama in.

    Love,
    Ronnie
