I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Weight Watchers again

Tonight was Weight Watchers night. There was a different leader than the first week. I have never been in a room with a perkier person in my life. I have a cold, I’ve taught all day (the year is not off to a great start), I’m over weight, I’m hungry and if Polly Perky had waved her pom-pom at me one more time she was going to eat them!! Does Weight Watchers have a branch that only has sarcastic leaders? I could handle that. I’m been to WW before; both times I lost 13 pounds and got pregnant! Yes, I was trying at the time but the memory is still enough to give me nightmares now. I do think WW is a good program but I just don’t feel like I’m into it this time.

Nick and I have already agreed that if I just start blowing off the whole idea of exercise and trying to get to a healthier weight he is going to whip my butt. Somehow the idea of getting a sticker from the cheerleader at the meeting is not going to give me more motivation than that!! I did lose 2 ½ pounds this week so I’ll give it a while longer. But the cheerleader has got to go!

I totally agree! I went through several leaders before I found one I could deal with! I drive more miles just to get to her, but I will say I lost 76 lbs after my 2nd pregnancy, and 82 after my 3rd and I'm now down almost 80 from my last pregnancy with the twins. I have another 10 to go, but I'll get there. Luckily I achieved lifetime after the first one so I only have to deal with perky people when I weigh in once a month. Then I use the excuse of young children to just weigh and leave! One thing I found if your place has a Mom and me meeting, try it. if nothing else, the moms trying to countrol our children is definitely entertainment and seeing the polly perky try to deal with restless toddlers is a hoot in itself!

    good luck!

    Anon for now :-)

PS: I had the same wonderful husbandly motivations and it has helped a lot!

  3. Is there nothing more miserable than having a cold, being tired and being subjected to someone who's perky? Honestly? I can think of worse ways to spend an evening.

Just think, she was where you are at one time. Perhaps her perkiness was covering some nervousness. Put yourself in her shoes to get my thought process here. You're in a room filled with unhappy, overweight people. They're hungry and tired, they've just weighed in so some are really angry with themselves. There's one lady near the back who has the sniffles and you're praying you won't catch whatever virus she's dealing with.

Everyone keeps staring at you. Are they looking at you because they envy your weight loss, or are they thinking you resemble a candy bar?

Of course she was perky, Girlfriend, she was scared to death. With that crowd, who wouldn't have been?

I know, I'm exaggerating :D I enjoyed WW, they helped me when I needed them.

Way to go Elis!!! Two and a half pounds (doesn't that look way more impressive written out?)

I'm going to send you an email. I have an idea.

If you have to hate her for being too perky, take comfort from the fact that you definitely have something nice to go home to/for - maybe WW is all she's got to make her perky!!!

  6. Watch out Elis, you've got CeeCi started, duck!!!
Poor old Polly Perky has just taken a course on how to be positive and is probably four times more nervous than you are, she'll get more bearable as she gets used to her class.
WW works and so does Nick's method, it only took three sessions over the back of the couch for the Tawse, for Mel to realise that she was going to lose that excess weight, and she did, as will you. Hope that you are feeling better soon.
    Warm hugs,
    Paul.
