I feel like I haven’t posted that much lately. Sometimes
when I go quiet it’s because I’m down, but that’s not the case. There hasn’t
been much to write about, but things are going well. This past Friday I went to
my sisters right after school so I wasn’t here for our usual Friday afternoon
spanking. Dodge a bullet or missed out on our time for reconnection?
Anyway the shopping and visiting was fun. I got a good start
on the shopping, but its nowhere near finished. My boys are still the hardest
to buy for. I have more ideas for Colin than I do LJ. If you have any
suggestions for young men, let me hear them. Mollie has a list that would wrap
around a building, so no problem there. One thing LJ did ask for was a new
Kindle, his quit working.
LJ tells me the first things he wants to read if he gets a
Kindle, will be the Cassie books. So
really how am I supposed to feel about that?
Mollie buys all the books as they come out, but she doesn’t read them
(she has read brief excerpts). She says she doesn’t want to read them, she just
buys them to support me. I think that’s kind of sweet. But LJ doesn’t even know
what they’re about as far as I know. I always assumed he’d be somewhat amused.
I guess I’ll know soon, I’ve already ordered him one.
I came home Sunday and Nick and I visited some, late near
suppertime, he came in and gave me ‘a look’. I was a bit bewildered until he
said, “It’s Friday.” I’m not as smart as some, but I knew it was Sunday and
told him so. Ignoring me he said again, “It’s Friday.” Next thing I knew I was
up out of my chair and bent over it. He took off with Blondie’s paddle, so I
didn’t miss out on this week after all. I appreciate him remembering. The
weight loss isn’t going fast by any means, but it is still going in the right
direction.
I guess that brings everyone up to date. I’m doing a throw
back Thursday tomorrow, and it’s one I hope you’ll read and think about even if
you remember it from a couple of years ago.
Hi PK, Gotta love those Fridays!! I don't think LJ will worry what the books are about. Who knows, he might not be as surprised as you think. My weight loss is slowing down too :(. It's about a stone and a half now, I think that is it for a while, with christmas coming it will be so difficult I reckon
ReplyDeletelove Jan.xx
Hey Jan, I think the cold weather makes the weight want to hang on - or does it make me want to curl up in my chair under a blanket and snack? I really am curious about what LJ knows or will think.
DeleteSlow and steady is the way to do it my friend. I love that Nick considered Sunday a Friday....Yeah for him...and for you.
ReplyDeletehugs abby
Nick is a real sweetie, and the slow and steady part - I got the slow down pat.
DeleteNice that Nick considered a Sunday a Friday. And will be interested in hearing what your son thinks about your books. As far as gifts from your son -- your daughter too -- take a family picture to Walgreen's and they will put it on a half-inch piece of wood at 5 by 7 or 8 by 10. Recommend it to all your readers.About $15 for 5 by 7 and $20 for 8 by 10 although they often have 25 per cent off sales.
ReplyDeleteFD
Nick is really taking care of me. I like the picture idea, we got a really good family picture last Christmas. With the size of the boys apartment that might work.
DeleteGlad that everything is on track.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leigh, hope it stays that way.
DeleteGlad that Nick decided that Friday could not be forgotten! :-)
ReplyDeleteDoes LJ have a TV series that he loves? My husband-to-be loves superman so I'll get him a coffee mug or a jacket and I love Star Trek so he'll get me a Trekkie accessory. We also like video games that we can play together. Just a couple of thoughts. :-)
I was glad too - he's not always the best at remembering to spank. I like that idea, but I'll have to research. With hulu and apple TV it seems no one is watching regular TV any more and I can't keep up with what's on or what they watch.
DeleteFriday everyday, wouldn't that be perfect ☺
ReplyDeleteMy heart and my head would love it, not so sure my butt would be on board!
DeletePK,
ReplyDeleteGotta love Nick.
I think LJ will be fine and amused with your books. Look forward to hearing what he thinks.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
I'm looking forward to that too, I'm really curious. For one thing I know he'll be willing to discuss it with me where Mollie is not!
DeleteDoesn't that country song go ... "It's 5 o'clock Friday somewhere ..."
ReplyDeleteGood weight loss isn't fast. It is a process that begins with changing the foods you eat (some out totally, some new one in). A little feeling of hunger is a sign of success; starving to diet will never succeed. IMHO. Jon
PS I admit to the zeal of a recent convert. I started in May during 6 group nutrition sessions. 16 pounds loss so far. But there have been a few weeks I've gained -- by giving in to cravings or by declaring every little reason into a "special" occasion.
I'm really trying to accept that slight feeling of hunger, I've trained myself to reach for something when I feel that and now I'm trying to train myself away from it.
DeletePK,
ReplyDeleteI love the way an hoh deos not foget.
Meredith
Yes and a good HOH is hard to find. We're lucky.
DeleteFor us it is Sunday morning...it is not a time nor a place but a state of mind. So yesterday afternoon was Sunday morning; just because!
ReplyDeleteI would like Sunday morning - I asked for Friday because he has Fridays off and I felt he would be more in the mood. Sometimes I'm a little tired and out of it. But that's all right.
DeleteSounds like sis time was fun!
ReplyDeleteThe spanking no matter when... Good even if it hurts! Lol
Congrats on the weight loss direction!
Slow is good even if I am impatient about weight loss too. I've managed 16 pounds.... But it has taken time. I never know whether I will gain or not. Doesn't matter if I cheat or not. Lol
Too slow though. If only spanking took off pounds!
DeleteHmm...good gifts for young men. A nice watch is always a good idea. Speakers that can connect to a Smartphone or iPod, or nice headphones, if he listens to music often? A new wallet? A new Thermos if he is a coffee or tea drinker? A nice winter scarf? Just some ideas!
ReplyDeleteLesley,
DeleteThese are good ideas. I saw his wallet the last time he was home and bought him one on the spot! It was literally coming apart.
Hey PK...so happy you are continuing to lose weight and very happy that Nick remembered. I am sure that LJ is going to enjoy your Cassie books...even if he skims over the spanking, I think he will enjoy your writing.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings...
Cat
Cat I hope you're right. On one hand LJ is my sweet, gentle, kind son - but he can also play the part of a arrogant New Yorker. Not that he would be arrogant with me, but I really want his opinion.
DeleteHi PK, I'm glad you had fun with your sister and shopping. It's great Nick is being so consistent with your Friday's and that he followed through on Sunday. Good on you for staying on track and in the right direction with the weight loss. Slow and steady is the best way.
ReplyDeleteI love that LJ want's to read your books. I think he will enjoy your writing too.
Hugs
Roz
Roz, I hope I still happy that Nick is keeping up after this week - I don't think the diet has gone too well this week. I'm curious about what he'll say to me.
DeleteEveryone I talk to has started their Christmas shopping. Grr, I'm running so late. Can't help you with guy gifts. I can always find things for my girls but I'm stumped on the son-in-laws.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got your Friday. It feels so good when you know they're thinking about you!
Clara, I think it's my hatred of big crowds that gets me shopping early. The idea of black Friday shopping gives me heart palpations!
DeleteHi PK,
ReplyDeleteI think tha LJ has known about your spanking fetish and blog since he suggested that you change his name to "Tobias Fahrenheit or Clement Pridemore." Your blog was the first to come up when I searched on those names. Obviously, he wants to read the Cassie books to show his unconditional love and support for you, just as you have shown for him. You are truly blessed. Good luck with your shopping!
Pittsburgh Pam
Pam, you've been reading a long time to come up with Tobias or Clement! He's a great boy (okay, man) and I love him dearly. He's support me if I murdered someone, but I hope he likes the books.
DeleteHi! I'm a new reader but really enjoy your blog! What are the Cassie books? I want to read them :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have you here! Oh dear, asking me about the Cassie books is like asking a new grandmother to show you some baby pictures! The books are on my left side bar here. Cassie's Space is the first, then Cassie's Tale and so on. They are about a wonderful older DD couple, Cassie and Tom. Click on the book and it will take you to Amazon and you can read the first couple of chapters for free. Tom and Cassie are deeply in love and Tom works hard to keep his free spirited wife somewhat in line by keeping her over his lap often. If you try them please let me know what you think - Cassie's been in my head since I was a kid. She's my oldest friend!
DeleteYay! Thank you! I will go one click right away! I read blogs through my app so I can't see a lot of what I could on a computer :-/
DeleteWe are fairly new to DD and still in the figuring it out stages! Haha we started in August and we are getting somewhere, I just thought it would be faster. Reading all these blogs help a lot and I'm really trying to not just be a lurker 😜
P.s. Friday is our day too!
