Deep sigh...

Mollie is at her camp, LJ and Colin are back in their beloved New York City, and once again Nick and I have our empty nest. I love those kids, I love seeing them, but as long as they’re happy where they are and getting on with their lives I am perfectly content just being here with Nick.

I feel like I’m coming back, my cold is finally fading and summer is here (well 4 teacher work days, but those hardly count). I’m going to have time to read and write and still do a few things around the house.

The ideas of dieting and fitness have completely gone out the window. Between being sick, having Mollie here for a couple of weeks and the horrible end of school stress I just haven’t giving it a thought.  Nick has, but he has been kind and understanding about these distractions.  I don’t think that’s going to last, however. I hope he does get tough again – I have a wedding to get ready for! So while summer is for fun, it doesn’t have to be for eating.  But no matter what it’s SUMMER!

I'm a little jealous of to have empty nest.... what I would give for it just once a month. Only once!

PK; enjoy your summer vacation. Enjoy your empty house and enjoy Nick. It is always easier to lose weight when we are in a positive mind position .. without stress.
I keep my fingers crossed.

I'm happy that you are feeling better and the end of term.
If your Summer gets a little much for you, send some to Cornwall as ours seems somewhat reluctant.
Love and warm hugs,

Happy to hear colds gone. Few more days and then you can relax, have fun, write for us and hopefully Nick will bring the cane out for a little encouragement:)

I saw a pin the other day, there is a man holding a belt, and he says "if you don't behave I am going to put the paddle away". That would be a good incentive for me to lose weight.
Sorry I haven't been around lately. I am so impressed that you are able to blog even in the midst of chaos. I just shut down.
Love ya

Enjoy your holydays, PK.
I agree with Mon Lisa, you'll find losing weight all the more easier with the stress gone.

I want LJ to be proud of the way I look when we go to the wedding. If necessary I'll just stand beside Mollie then no one will notice me.

Mona Lisa,
The empty nest is much better than I thought it would be - love seeing the kids but love being on our own too.

I'm planning on that for sure!

If I couldn't blog in the chaos I would go nuts for sure! It's my relaxation, my connection to friends - I think it's my anti-depression drug. Love seeing you here.

I sure hope you're right!

We usually get 8 weeks off for summer. Because of a strange change in schedule we have nearly 11 weeks off! I'm so happy!

Yea for summer!!! Glad you're feeling better, just in time for summer. I'm sure now that you're feeling better Nick will "help" up out with the fitness stuff. ;)

I just read about your visit with Ami, what fun! Summer JUST arrived. Today in the 80's, but we've had a cool spring. Hope summer makes it there soon.
