I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

The first day

When I woke Friday morning I was already excited! I spent most of the day puttering around finding little things to do; mostly I tried to keep busy. I knew that they would not be here until supper time so I waited. When Eva called I think she said something like “This is your last chance to back out!” I didn’t back out! I yelled for the family and headed to the car. But I did have butterflies!

When we got to the hotel and I knocked, I wondered for a minute if she had changed her mind but as she peeped around the door she must have thought we looked alright because she did open the door and I got my first hug. I felt like one big grin! Once I saw them I was fine. I think I adjusted faster that when we first spoke on the phone.

I could tell Mollie was nervous because she wasn’t talking. And I wanted Eva to hear that she, unlike me, sounded southern. Of course before the weekend was over she had plenty of chances to hear Mollie talk!! LJ joined in he usually feels pretty comfortable in any situation.

Collin joined us for supper then we all came back to the house to visit. That was fun, just getting comfortable with each other. Mollie was funny most of the weekend when she was with us she was sitting either right beside or on me. I think it was territorial. She knows how much time I spend talking to Eva and I think she wanted to establish ownership. But by the end of the weekend she was chattering as usual and was sorry to see them leave.

There wasn’t any friction until the next morning. We went to an all you can eat breakfast and I was forced to throw myself in front of the grits to protect them from Yankees with a sugar fetish. Adam also had me shaking my head as he put pepper on his cantaloupe. I guess I shouldn't be shocked - just because they are spanko doesn’t mean that they are completely normal!

More details about Saturday tomorrow.

Okay okay... here's the truth.. I really don't like grits much anyhow. And Adam said to tell you all that it was hard for him because he had to ask PK to pass him the pepper and he knew she wouldn't be happy about it!!! I did however manage to put some pepper on some baked apples without her catching me. Hehehe.

  6. When I was a kid we always put salt on cantaloupe and watermelon--it makes it taste sweeter. I don't do it any longer, not sure why.... Sounds like you all had such a great visit, looking forward to hearing more.

  9. Maggie,
Mollie was interesting during the visit. LOL!

I'm not stopping, just keep coming back!

    mthc,
Since I don't eat cantaloupe I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt. It's okay not to eat grits you just can't put sugar on them if you do!

    Reesa,
I have seen lots of folks use salt on cantaloue and watermelon but grits - definitely salt and butter!!

As for who is who in the pool picture we are twins, we can't tell!

Carye you may live to the north but you have it right on how to eat grits. I'm proud!

    Eva,
Now I did give him the pepper right away! And as for you sneaking the pepper on the apples even a DW has to take a break and eat herself every once and a while!

    Kallisto,
We did have a great time. As for the strange things they do to food you have to give them a break they were raised in the north.

    Adam!
Come back and you can eat anyway you want! I think we learned a lot from each other and it was so much fun!! The visit was just wonderful and I look forward to getting together again someday.

    Paul,
I'll keep going. Those of us in the south don't have strange eating habits. Pass the 'possum please!

  11. Grace,
What do you people eat out there? Just nuts and granola? When you come for a visit I will take you for some and teach you how to eat them correctly!

Grace~ Listen to me. We talk alike. You know I wouldn't lie to you. Butter and salt on grits is a southern thing. Ya gotta be HARDCORE southern to eat them that way. The rest of us have to ease in. Trust me. Sugar. Lots of sugar.

    Hugs~
    Eva
