Mollie survived her trip to the big city, and surprisingly,
I did too. There was one hitch – she was
sick her first night there, throwing up several times and wasn’t able to go out
anywhere that first full day. I was in
touch by phone with both kids. Mollie was impressed by just how sweet her
brother could be and how well he took care of her, and he was amazed by how much she slept, telling me, “I
think she slept more than the cats today.”
Between Mollie sleeping to allow her body to heal, and me
calling on some friends out here for some quick prayers and healing energy she
was able to go out and really enjoy the next day. They went to the Met, one of LJ favorite small
parks, Central park and a few other sights.
She got to meet with some of LJ friends whom she has always adored in a
hero-worship way and she was delighted when they treated her as a grown up and
not at LJ’s little sister.
She navigated the train system back to the airport alone –
with good instructions from her brother. And my favorite part was seeing her
pop out of the airport and into the car when we went to pick her up. She looked so beautiful and confident and worldly! I’ve so proud of my kids!
Meanwhile, back here on the home front. I was supposed to be losing weight this week, in spite of stress eating over Mollie and work driving me crazy. I may give up on weight loss and just work on
growing 6 or 7 inches. But anyway, I got
home from school on Wednesday, hoping to make it to my chair before the nap
that had been stalking me for hours took over.
I was planning on doing one of my workout DVDs later, I told Nick, once
I got good and woke up. About a half
hour later Nick came out of the bedroom holding the paddle he made me. He had
decided it was time to help me wake up.
And boy he did, I was most definitely awake! That paddle is
formidable. I did my workout with a
stinging bottom – make it much more fun. And to top it off Nick offered a post workout
massage, which led to even better activities.
Unfortunately it’s wasn’t enough and I was up almost a pound
this week on the scales. I have good
friends trying to lose right along with me.
One emailed me saying we both deserved a spanking. I read the email to Nick and for better or
worse he agreed and I got spanked right before going out to eat with friends –
to a restaurant having hard wood chairs I might add.
I’ll try again this week, but obstacles seem to pop up out
of nowhere. Out with friends Friday
night, Mollie making chicken and dumpling Saturday night and of course my MIL’s
fantastic spread on Sunday. So if I gain I think Mollie and my MIL should get the
spanking – right?
Hey PK, glad to hear Mollie had such a great time and all was well. Sorry she was unwell initially but glad she recovered quickly.
ReplyDeleteGreat Nick stepped up to help you with the exercise goal and that you have some fun time :)
Hugs,
Roz
Roz,
DeleteI appreciate Nick too, but it's still hard to make myself exercise.
Hi PK
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Mollie had a great time with her brother and that you survived her trip :)
As for the spankings, it sounds like Nick is more than willing to help you out with your exercising or is he really doing this so he can bulk up his chest area?
Bob
Bob,
DeleteThe sibling did great! Nick would probably spank more if he felt like it was doing more good. I'm still not exactly the best or most obedient wife.
PK,
ReplyDeletequality time for both of you. LOL!
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.
Paul,
DeleteI do love our time alone!
Hi PK , Glad Mollie had a great time and is home safe. I don't think the paddle helps me to lose weight either. I taught dance all day yesterday and when I got home hubby was waiting to try out the new paddle he ordered to replace the bleeping hairbrush!! Scales are still up half a pound today:(((. love Jan.xx
ReplyDeleteJan,
DeleteIt helps knowing he is trying to help me. I guess that's all I can ask. But I know for me it's easier to exercise when he has just warmed my butt. Now is it because of the sting or because of the attention?
So glad Molly enjoyed her visit. I bet the "boys" did too. It's nice showing someone around the "big city" it makes them feel "native".
ReplyDeleteSorry about the weight gain, know just how it feels and life just keeps on getting in the way. If there is enough incentive I think success is possible.
Sunny,
DeleteThe boys did love it. I know losing is possible - I've done it before and I know I can again.
So happy Mollie recovered and enjoyed her trip to the big city.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear Nick helping with the exercise.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
Ronnie,
DeleteNick is doing his part, now I have to do mine.
Glad Mollie had a great time...
ReplyDeleteGlad you and Nick had some fun time together...
Sorry about the weight...as you know I struggle with this as well - I feel like I am always starting fresh and the extra inches in height I have aren't enough to hide it anymore...we will get there...just keep saying I think I can I think I can... :-)
Hugs!
Terps,
DeleteI can assure you it does get harder as you get older - you're young, go for it!
How nice that she looked so beautiful and confident and worldly. A credit to her parents.
ReplyDeleteAnd the weight loss thing is a win-win now that he is participating. You either lose or get spanked. Good result either way.
FD
FD,
DeleteShe's a joy!
I'd really hope I can lose and get spanked too!
Hey PK...So happy to hear Mollie had a wonderful time and is now safely home.
ReplyDeleteDang...weight is such a struggle but at least Nick is helping and you're having fun also!
Blessings,
Cat
Cat,
DeleteI won't give up! It's snacks that kill me!
Molly and your MIL could take the spanking for you....but where would the fun be in that?
ReplyDeleteGlad Molly made it home safely.
Should I start blogging again?
HUGS!
grace
Grace,
ReplyDeleteI know you're right - I'm the one that wants a spanking, but it's still their fault!
Now about whether or not you should start blogging again. Hmm... let me answer in my usually sweet way -
HELL YES YOU SHOULD START BLOGGING AGAIN!
This happens absolutely very seldom, but this time I agree with PK!
DeleteStart Blogging Grace! You promised!
Blogging! Blogging! Blogging!
I blogged two days in a row! I'm on a roll!
Delete;)
Hi PK,
ReplyDeleteGlad your baby girl is back home again safe and sound. I know how your feel when you see them so confident and happy. You love them no matter what, but it is an extra treat when they make you proud.
Have a blessed day!
George
George,
DeleteThere is nothing much better than feeling your kids are turning out well!
I am so happy that Molly had a great time after such a rotten start.
ReplyDeleteLosing weight...SIGH!! Yuk.
Minelle,
DeleteTrying to loose is the pits!
Mollie will conquer the world!
ReplyDeleteBut that mother of hers, I'm not so sure about.
Really PK, Stress Eating? What kind of pretext is that?
Nick! Nick! Go get that paddle!
Bas,
DeleteYou know how it is Bas, stress eating, anger eating, bored eating - the list goes on and on.
loved this post, PK. i've been reading your blog for a while and have just been a lurker. it seems like i'm always on some sort of a diet. good luck! :)
ReplyDeletemaryanne.
Maryann,
DeleteGlad you came by to say hey. I'm tired of dieting, I want a magic wand.
LOL..yep. Definitely not your fault, PK. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad someone agrees with me!
Deleteglad mollie is btter and enjoyed her trip....i sure understand how you felt doing a workout with a sore bottom...painful but good motivation though :)
ReplyDeleteKiwi,
ReplyDeleteBest motivation ever!
I totally agree !
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteJust started a blog about starting dd, and I came across yours. I love what i've read so far, and can't wait to read more. The weight loss thing is something I want to work on too, so I totally understand that struggle. Good luck with it :)
ReplyDeleteKenzie,
DeleteThank you for coming by - weight loss, well trying for it, stinks! Good luck on you new site. If work will let up for a minute I'll be over for a visit.
