I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

1, 2, 3 ... Life Changing

As a kid, I did something I bet many of you did - I looked up spanking in the dictionary (for you young people, the dictionary was an ancient form of google.) That dictionary told me:

Spanking is a common form of corporal punishment involving the act of striking the buttocks of another person to cause physical pain, generally with an open hand. More severe forms of spanking, such as switching, paddling, belting, caning, whipping, and birching, involve the use of an object instead of a hand.

That was as titillating as it got back then.

I moved on from those ancient time, but my interest stayed the same and in 2006 I typed spanking into my computer search bar. Approximately 150 million suggestion were generated in .3 seconds. From this 150 million I chose to click on ‘My Bottom Smarts’ written by Bonnie. And in the time it takes to click a button my entire life changed.

I devoured Bonnie’s blog and many I found on her links like a starving man devours a banquet. Then I realized you could comment, then the bloggers commented back! From these bloggers, I got the strength and courage to come out to Nick. And from that we developed a closeness that had been missing for the first twenty-three years of our marriage. I changed my hairstyle. I began sleeping in the nude. I began writing spanking stories – I felt like I was coming out of a cocoon and I could be my true self, at least here on the blogs where it was safe.

I had no idea what I was doing and no idea where this blog might take me. At that time, I didn’t know that it would lead me to the best friends I’ve ever known. I didn’t know it would give me a voice and the courage to use it. I didn’t know it would give me my long-held, secret dream of being a writer. And I didn’t know it would give me a deep, rich marriage instead of the ‘marriage lite’ we’d had for years.

The idea of spending so much time writing a spanko/sex blog would seem amusing to some and a monumental waste of energy to others. But I’m so grateful to Bonnie and those other bloggers I found back then. I can only hope that I’ve been helpful to others who have stumbled across my blog over the years.

Yesterday, July 22, was my twelve year blogging anniversary.   I won’t blog forever. An even dozen might be a good place to stop. But I think I’ll try for a baker’s dozen and then see what happens.

  8. Twelve years of so many ups and downs that you shared! I went up and down with you when I found you last year. You've obviously been a help and motivation to many. I'm sure it's hard to find something original to keep going but even when you think you've written nothing interesting, we all enjoy it. It will be sad if you stop. Maybe slow down in a couple years? Of course you'll keep writing but we really want more than a book or two a year, you know? I'm so glad I found Cassie and through her, you.

  9. I don't think you will ever know how many lives you have touched over the last 12 years, PK. You write with honesty and humor. Reading about your struggle to develop and maintain a ttwd relationship with your Nick is a story that to which so many women can relate. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your blog and your friendship.

    Much Love,
    Ella

    1. Thanks, Laurel! I sometimes wonder how long I might go and will I stop or simply fade away. Blogging has changed enormously in twelve years. I'm curious to see where it might go now.
