This is a short post to say everything here is going just
fine. We’re finding some play time here and there. Taking up a lot of Nick’s
time is that his parents really aren’t doing too well. I hold my breath with
each phone call. They are ninety-one and ninety-four and still live on their
own, but they probably shouldn’t be. Nick is lucky to come from a family of
five kids and they all live close so everyone is helping.
So these days there seems to be a lot going on, but very little to blog about. Nick and I are planning to take a trip over spring break and I’m looking forward to that. Not only do we get to get away we’re leaving Mollie here painting her old room and getting ready to turn it into a nice guest room. I’m interested to see how that goes. I’m not too worried, we’re replacing the carpet too so I think we’re safe.

Wow, daughters are certainly different than sons! Once my two sons moved out, I could hardly get them to come and take their trophies, baseball card or comic book collections. Enjoy your spring break.
ReplyDeleteMollie sees this as a way to practice her decorating skills on my dime!
DeleteEnjoy your break, PK. I hope you like the transformation of Mollie's room when you get back.
ReplyDeleteRosie xx
The last time it was painted she chose dark brown with big pink dots. Anything would be an improvement.
DeleteDear PK, enjoy your spring break; I certainly think that you have earned it. Molly sounds wonderful for renovating her room. I am still trying to clean and tidy my daughters ex room 5 years after she moved out!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I clean out my room in my parents house after they passed away and I cleaned out their whole house.
DeleteEnjoy your spring break. A guest room, huh.
ReplyDeleteActually I'm going to have two - keep them in mind.
DeleteEnjoy your spring break, PK! Perhaps we will renovate our daughter's room after she leaves for college. Then again, she will be back...lol.
ReplyDeleteMight as well wait until she graduates and gets her first apartment.
DeletePK, oh so true. Hubby is chomping at the bit to have his own "hobby room" and I think keeps dreaming of the day she moves out. He will miss her though!!
DeleteYay to a vacation!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about Nicks parents. It's hard no matter what age they or -we are. I so miss my mom these days.
Unfortunately I moved mil into what was my daughters room when she moved out... She wasn't ready.... Some tears and guilt on my part. She had the other room.... But....
I wasn't trying to rush her just make better use of space. Mil has some large medical equipment.
You can see I still feel bad. :(
I understand the guilt. Mollie wanted LJ's room because it was bigger but I didn't want to give his room away - even though he didn't live here any more and didn't care. So as parents we can feel guilty about anything!
DeleteWoo Hoo for Spring Break! Glad you can get some get away time and will be a nice surprise to come home to your daughters decorating. Have you ever seen that show where people go away for three days and a design team goes in and decorates their house. This is kind of like that! We will miss you while you're gone but will look forward to some new fun stories when you get back! Vacations are great for creating stories. :) Amy
ReplyDeleteI have seen that show, but I don't think she has so I'm not getting my hopes up! Yep, I'm hoping to get some stories from my trip.
DeleteGlad to hear about a trip away with just you and Nick! Something you both will enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOne on our boys was just horrified that I wanted to do something else with his room. I think he expected me to preserve it or have it bronzed like his baby shoes.

Once both of mine were gone I explained that there would be no shrines - it's MY house now!
DeleteEnjoy your Spring break PK and Nick. So glad you can get away to recharge your batteries for a while.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to hear how Mollie went with her room. Hope it turns out well.
Thinking of you both with Nick's parents, always a hard time.
Hugs Lindy
It will be nice to recharge. Although we live alone it's so nice to get away an just visit with each other.
