I sure could use some help

I’m very excited about the forth Cassie book coming out tomorrow! I hope you’ll read it and that you’ll enjoy it.  If you’ve been thinking about reading the books, but haven’t started yet, please know you can jump in anywhere! You don’t have to read the first three to enjoy this fourth one. You can start with this one and then if you want to know more about how Cassie and Tom met and so on you can go back and get that later.

Now about the favor I want to ask of my readers. Most of us here in this section of blogland are spanko ourselves and by far most of us are in the closet about that fact.  It’s hard to spot other spankos in real life because we are fantastic at hiding our true selves. But have you ever wondered about a friend, maybe a family member? Maybe they’ve made a few comments that have made you wonder, but you didn’t dare bring it up? Maybe this book could help open a conversation. If you read Cassie’s River Living and like it, tell a vanilla.

Maybe the conversation could go something like this: “I had a friend on line (that would be me, so you’re not lying) suggest this book to me. I read it and I’m not exactly sure what I think of it all, would you read it and give me your opinion?”

I would love to fine a way to get vanilla’s to read one – I know that they might be horrified, but I also know many wouldn’t be and might really like the stories and the humor. It’s just that I have no way I can think of to let them know the books even exists, and that’s what I’m asking you to help me with. I think this would be the book to suggest, because in this one Cassie explains why this type of relationship works for her and Tom and how it can possibly work for others if that is something they are thinking of.

One of my friends and readers, Patty, was kind enough to print off some Cassie stories and take them to her book club one time. I was fantasied at what she discovered. Most liked the story and Cassie, but the room split along age lines about the idea of domestic discipline. Forty and younger were completely against it, while those over forty seemed to see it as an interesting possibility I say those under forty were still needing to make sure they had their full independence, while those who had fully achieved independence and confidence were more will to explore or at least contemplate the idea.

Are any of you in a book club? Would you be willing to suggest something a little out there? Would you be willing to introduce them to a couple whose 50 shades of gray include their hair color? Do I have some brave souls willing to try this?  I just feel that there is enough love, humor and respect in them to generate a good conversation. No graphic sex scenes, but you still know that they enjoy an active sex life. I don’t want you outing yourselves, but if you feel you could do it safely, I would really like to know any comments you get back. And whether you tell another soul or not, I really hope you’ll enjoy this new book.

Patty had a great idea to take your stories to her book club. Yes, I'll try it.

Hi PK, fantastic ideas! I'm not in a book club but definitely willing to recommend the book to a vanilla.

In our book club we each submit 2 or 3 choices at the beginning of the year...the librarian chooses from those according to their availability in the library system. But those not chosen often are put on our personal reading lists...so i will add a Cassie book to my possible choices.
good luck

I"ll post that I bought it on my real FB site. That should get some vanilla readers.

Firstly, congratulations on your fourth book - I love them and was so happy when you started to publish them as I have been able to start with number 1 and read as fast as you can put them together! I love them, but I do not care for Tom very much. I would so like to meet a 'Tom' character because he brings out the "up and at 'em" side to my character!

I have to tell you that I dare not recommend any more books of this ilk to any book clubs around here. A large book club wiped the floor with Fifty Shades (due to its BDSM slant) and a small book club (yes, I told a friend how much I had enjoyed it and she unwittingly took it along and they all read it!) are still going on about it! I haven't met anyone yet who has dared to come out in favour of even the sex in it. Heaven knows what all there sex lives are like! They all probably had fits of the vapours at the thought of being 'spanked' by their other halves!

I think Leigh is very brave! Golly! I would have to move to the other side of the country. The other side of the world even. Perhaps I would have to come move in with you!!! LOL!!! This is 'stiff upper lip' England after all!

Many hugs

(oops - nearly signed my real name!)

I'm way over 40 and couldn't see what all the fuss was about when everyone was reading 50 Shades. It wasn't one of our selected monthly books in my book club, but everyone was talking about it. All the ladies are older and fairly educated, all in professional jobs. MOST admitted that it turned them on, but several felt too independent to ever submit. Then I read it, and the second, and the third......I had been a spanko and my husband used spankings erotically. Well, that book rev ved up our sex life and it is still much improved after at least a year.
I read the first two Cassie books and liked them, but I found the girlfriend situations and the spankings were getting repetitious. I may go on to finish the next two as I like married couples' spanking stories.

Only do what you feel comfortable doing. Before 50 Shades I wouldn't have asked, but it kinda opened our topic up for discussion.

I'd really be interested in what they might think.

I'm not a big fan of science fiction - but I've read some that have been suggested to me and I really liked them. So even if they aren't spankos there's a chance that they could like it.

Thanks Abby, I really appreciate it. Let me know if you get any comments.

That would be great if you're comfortable with that. I'm going to hold out until I retire, then I'll be shouting them from the roof top on FB.

Ami - don't worry a bit. I'm so happy that your are reading them, and you don't need to tell a soul about them.

Kate - Cassie is written in 'real life' situations, and I do use the term loosely, so since she is friends with the same people and married to good old Tom things won't be unrealistic different. But I do try to keep her antics as fresh as possible. And to be honest, as I've gotten to the third and forth books I personally think they improve because I've simply learned more. If you decide to try them let me know what you think.

Ami - I forgot, you are not the only one of my friends that doesn't like Tom, poor man. I admit, I love Tom - I really do, but as CASSIE'S husband, not mine! I'd kill him! But as a fantasy, his love and attention and his consistency really have me hooked.

Jan, that would be great IF you're really comfortable. It's only to satisfy my curiosity. I mean before I found blogs I was the only one who knew I was a spanko. I never even told Nick, so all my friends would have thought I was vanilla. We really never know what goes on in someone else's head.

Sorry, no book club for me but if ever the chance arises I would definitely recommend Cassie for reading

I LOVE CASSIE AND TOM! LOL....I am not in any book Club. This place in blogland is my book club. I am not sure I am brave enough because of my job...If I get a chance to leave my daytime job....I'm on it!

I'm not in a book club either. But if you enjoy it maybe some of your friends will too.
