It you checked out Todd and Suzy’s diet update you will see that I gained again last week. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr… I find this most annoying. I am at the gym for an hour at the least 4 times every week and many weeks 5 times a week. I also don’t think I am really over eating but I know that I tend to want to snack at work and I am trying to be more aware of it.
But I am an optimist so I have been trying to look at the bright side and here are some things that I need to concentrate on. I am coming up on our 2 year anniversary of starting to work on the diet and trying to get healthier. I have lost just over 40 pounds, I have gone down 4 sizes, I have reduced my body fat by about 7 % and have lost inches everywhere. According to the test at the gym my flexibly has increased from 8 1/4 inches to 10 inches. Unfortunately my age went from 49 to 51 but you can’t have everything!
Better than all that I do feel healthier. When Nick and I walked 2.5 miles around the lake this weekend I was fine! Okay I came out with a sore butt, but as for just the walk I was fine and didn’t even feel all that tired when we got back to the car. That really surprised me. And even though I have gained some in the last few weeks the clothes I bought a little tight last month don’t feel as tight now so I do feel I might be readjusting.
But I really noticed it tonight at the gym. I decided to go for just aerobic tonight so I go on the elliptical machine. I remember the first time I got on it. It was a killer! I could only go for 5 minutes and it was a struggle, tonight I went for 30 minutes for a total of 3 miles. It was tiring but I could do it. So I am going to keep on with what I am doing – watching what I eat and keep exercising.
I hope Nick will keep doing what he is doing. Yes I have to control what I eat and how much I exercise but knowing Nick is watching over the process and is willing to spank to keep me motivated and focused is what has kept me focused for 2 years. So all is going pretty well but I still wish I could start losing again.
I think some of it might be stress. The end of your job is near with lots to do before your summer break. You have the motivation and more time is coming to work on it.

I am very proud of the dedication exhibited and the progress made by my wife. However I do have a rules violation to report. I came back from the bedroom last night to see PK with a snack in front of the TV, although we have agreed that if she is hungry enough to need a snack she can eat in the kitchen. And to make matters worse, when I asked what she was doing did she say "oops, sorry, I forgot"? No she said "I thought you had gone to bed." So, PK's peers, what does she deserve?

You surely are building muscle mass with all the working out you're doing. It's probably not fair to go by just the scale... so we're glad to see that you are counting the drop in inches and clothes sizes you've had.
ReplyDeleteAlso count this... had you just been the same-old PK the last 2 years, how much would you have GAINED? 10 pounds? Maybe 15?
You really are doing AWESOME!!
That said, young lady... lol... your ass should be grass for the little stunt in front of the TV. It's already a clearly understood rule. And your "I thought you had gone to bed" line to Nick pretty clearly shows you remembered it.
No matter the case though, you need some help either remembering the rule... or following the rule. Either/Or... you really and truly deserve a real discipline spanking for this. No playing around, no warm up stuff. Pants and panties down and hard and long paddling.
We know you're doing great, and we're proud of you. But you aren't doing your very best if you are eating snacks in front of the TV. That's a habit from the old lifestyle that simply must go away. And with you feeling a little down about the slow down at the scale (we'd all be frustrated by that)... you simply have no business falling into 'comfort eating' habits. That can really set you up for a step back.
So Nick, we do hope you nip this one in the bud. PK is a sweet girl, and we know you're a super nice guy... but this calls for a spanking that she wont soon forget.

Now we're talking a good old fashioned butt whippin' here..she seems to agree ..she thinks it will end with something else..but now u can't let that happen..at least for a while...So she wanted to me to send you this..thinking she might get lucky..
So go out to whatever tree you can find cut a couple of switches..tie them together..then tie her..(WEG)..and use the implements in a way that she'll remember for a while..remember she knows about this..she thinks it might be fun..you need to prove her wrong..

I'm so very proud of you! You are doing such an awesome job and you look amazing! I wish I could do what you have done. There are always ups and downs with diets and you are a shining example to all of us. Plateaus are normal and everyone goes through them. Trying new exercises might just be what you need to jump start yourself.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things...trying to eat healthy and exercises...and have done really well in the last couple of years...all your hard work will pay off...as for the snacking though...hmmm.... :-)

ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been around much lately. During the time when I really was losing there were times when I would hit a plateau. My body just wasn't ready to lose anymore. Eventually it will work again. Also if you work out and build muscle mass, that actually weighs more than fat. So sometimes that slows up the loss.
I have been at this now for five years and have lost 120 pounds. And for the first time in my life I haven't put anymore back on. I have about thirty more to go but it is slow going at this point.
Don't give up and don't get frustrated. Just eat healthy, and exercise. Your body will do the rest.

120 pounds - amazing!! I never ever thought I could do this. I had been fat for so long. Even after asking Nick to spank me for motivation I still didn't think it would last this long. I am not giving up now.
I bet the weight you have gained is muscle. That's why I hate the scales!
