Blurb and Cover for Cassie's Life

It’s November and Cassie’s Life will be out this month! I’m always excited when a new book comes out. I’ve said before it’s like sending you children out into the world alone and hoping and praying everyone will like them and say nice things about them.

I’ll have the ‘official’ cover reveal over at the Reading Room tomorrow, but I always give you guys the first look. Be sure to go by the Reading Room today, Lily is answering some questions.

Now back to the cover. Covers are important to me. I’m not overly wild about the cover of the first Cassie book. But I hear you can’t put old people on the cover and expect the book to sell. Ok, I’ll buy that. Now that I’m with Blushing they always ask what I want on the cover and it’s HARD! I usually get a first try and of course it’s never what’s in my head and we go back and forth – they are so good to work with – and we come up with something we can all live with.

That didn’t happen this time. I got an email while I was at the writing convention, subject was ‘Cassie’s Life cover suggestion.’ I grimaced, the first one never suits me and I didn’t have a lot of time to go back and forth. So, without a lot of hope I opened the email. I just stared.

I felt tears come to my eyes. This was it. This was the cover that encompassed the entire series to me – simple, lovely, loving.
