I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Weekend update

This was a beautiful calm weekend. I wiped school out of my mind completely! Saturday morning we went to the mountains for a picnic with friends. The weather could not have been better. It was about 62 degrees when we got there. There were about 15 of us. Our friends practically have an out door kitchen that they can travel with. So sitting out in the fresh mountain air by a beautiful stream we had bacon, sausage, country ham, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, muffins, biscuits, jelly, apple butter and fruit salad.

We could sit in the sun or shade and still feel comfortable. There were some little kids there from 8 down to 2; it was only minutes before they were all flocking to Mollie. I swear she is like the Pied Piper! The little ones wanted to go wading in that icy water so Mollie took off her shoe and rolled up her pants and braved the cold. I think this is one of the prettiest spots in our mountains. Very peaceful!

Coming home we all grabbed a nap and then cleaned for a party at our house Sunday. The party was for Nick’s dad’s birthday – 88 years old! He seems nearly completely recovered from his back surgery, back to hoeing his garden and mowing and using the tractor. Guess he has to do something to keep busy while MIL is cooking! LOL!

The whole family was here for lunch – about 23 people. We ate and then all the little ones headed to the pool, Mollie was in her element! Even LJ was here, not only him – he brought two friends with him. I couldn’t help chuckling to myself. The friends he brought were two gorgeous girls. Now everyone but his grandparents knows he’s gay but they don’t acknowledge it or say anything about it. I mean they don’t ask questions or anything so I know they were curious. Colin would have come too but he is in a play and today was the last performance.

All in all it was a pretty nice weekend. I have one more crazy week to survive and then it’s over!! I have to work through Friday and then on Sunday we all head up to see Eva and Adam and the Grandbaby!!!! Now that’s something to look forward to.

Here's a few more pictures from out mountain trip...

  1. Oh what a wonderful weekend you had. I wished I'd been up there in the mountains with you and how lovely to have all the family together for Nick's dad birthday. What a grand age. I'm very happy he's recovered.

I hope your last week at school is a good one.

You'll have to tell us all about your trip to see Eva and Adam and let us know how their grandbaby is.

    Love.

  2. PK, picnics on a mountain, a forested mountain? What bliss!
No I'm not jealous, but I would have loved to have been with you.
Sounds like a lovely week-end, I should think that the party was quite a lot of work, but worth it.
A butterfly whisperer, love it. :)
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

    Morning PK,

Thanks for the wonderful visuals and "circumstantials" you make it sound and I'm sure it was, as peaceful as the Waltons! Thanks for sharing and I love the butterfly shot, a swallow tail I think. You guys don't need a butterfly house... you have Mollie!

Have a quick and wonderful week and a great visit with Eva and family!

  5. That picture of the butterfly on Mollie's arm brought back memories. My grandfather always used to say that if if a butterfly landed on you it left a blessing. Then, years later, I saw that scene in the film Patch Adams (don't know if you've seen it) where the butterfly lands on him. Seeing a butterfly on someone always makes me smile. Thank you for posting the picture.

    love and hugs xxx

  6. Ronnie,
We live in a wonderful place. The mountains are very close and always beautiful! We love getting together with the family there.

    Paul,
I would love to be able to show you our mountains, yes they are wooded with streams everywhere.

    Meow,
I have been blessed with the best family in the world, both mine and Nicks. These folks are the best.

    Kaylynn,
LOL! You are not far off with the Waltons it is very close. Honestly if I really described our families some would swear I had to be lying or stealing from a family TV script.

  7. M:e,
Sorry I hit publish too soon. Mollie loved playing with the butterfly and the little children seemed to think she was magic. They just stood and stared. I hope she was given a blessing she sure has been one.
