I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

'Friday' and a Fitbit update

I’m free and starting the summer in fine fashion. When I got home from school yesterday afternoon Nick was home and we spent a few hours floating lazily in the pool, a lovely way to begin summer. Shortly after we came up Nick asked me if the day felt like one long Friday. And without thinking I agreed with him, I didn’t see the leather paddle until it was too late. He said that ‘Friday’ seemed like a good time to clear the list. The list was short, but having just gotten out of the pool, I could really feel it. Pool soaked bottoms are always a little tender.

Mollie and I got the fitbits. I like it – it certainly makes you aware of the amount of activity each day
and evidently I am coming into a dangerous time for me. I do a lot of sitting during the summer. That’s my time to write. But I’m going to have to get up and move, especially if I’m going to win my challenge with Mollie. I told Nick I was already thinking of cheating to get my steps in. I told him I was going to put the fitbit on the cat one day – that would get my steps in for sure. Nick said he thought Mollie might be suspicious if the fitbit reported that I’d climbed two trees and caught a bird. Yeah, maybe not the best idea.

I changed the daily total from 10,000 steps to 7,000 because I wanted to have a chance of reaching my goal. Someday I may work up to 10,000 but it’s going to take some time to get there.  I’m also fascinated that it tracks my sleep – telling how long I sleep and how long during the night I was restless and how many time I woke during the night. I think I’m a pretty good sleeper, but I’m going to have to compare my results with other some time to see how ‘normal’ I am.

Hopefully I can start commenting now that school's over. I’ve been lurking everywhere and it’s time to get into the conversation again.

    1. That would have been a good idea, but Nick would never have thought of it. Lazy day today.

  2. Woo hoo, so happy for you PK. Wishing you a wonderful summer break and enjoy your girls trip. Glad you had some spanky action.:)

Wishing you the best with the fitbit challenge. Had to laugh at your idea of putting it on the cat and have to agree with Jan. Maybe Nick should have spanked you for that :)

  3. Happy Summer, PK. Enjoy and savor the freedom. Sounds like the spanking was a good beginning to your summer break.
When I am wearing my Weight Watchers pedometer, I walk in place while I am on the phone or folding laundry. See if that helps.

    1. Mollie is running through the house as I type trying to get in her steps today. I should be chasing her. She commented, "You never let me do this when I was little."

    1. I know I don't get enough sleep. I do like tracking it. I think it might be a good idea to try to just get more steps than the day before.

  10. Nick was quite creative. Spanked wet bottoms hurt so bad. Like you, summer has begun and I can start blogging. Your little fidbits, well I am just going to pretend I know nothing about them,,,

    1. I feel like it is the opposite for me...summer for me means less blogging because kids will be home 24/7...but I will find a way... :-)

    2. Yep wet bottom spankings aren't always fun! I like having more time to write, but I'm feeling disorganized at the moment. I want to blog, comment, email friends, write for Cassie, write other books and I end up just starting at the computer.

  11. Hurray for Nick and the list clearing!! :) Though that didn't sound nice on a wet behind! LOL! Great way to start the summer.

Your fitbit sounds awesome. Your cat idea made me laugh. I like Abby's idea of started low and moving it up as you go... Or you could go full speed ahead... I am thinking that walks along the beach should do the trick. It is interesting that you can measure sleep stats. Many hugs,

    PK,
I used a step counter and when I walked 10,000 steps, I was hungry enough to eat the door of the refrigerator. Your 7000 steps is much better to begin with.
