I survived my beach trip with Sunny and Katie! We had a blast and I'm home trying to catch up on my reading and my rest - those women are hard to keep up with. Come back Sunday for more details of our visit - some of what I tell you may even be true!
Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of Sunny's story. You can find the first part here.
They had really tried to make it work. Unfortunately, because Jimmy was in law enforcement his off days were mostly mid week. Jess’ schedule was just the opposite. They had little time to get together and after a while the phone calls were just not enough. It was déjà vu. Just like when she moved away all those years ago.
She and Bonnie kept in touch through email and texting this time though. Bonnie knew how miserable Jimmy was and also knew that Jess was in love with him but understood that time and distance had worked against them.
Six months later, Bonnie got engaged to a fellow officer of Jimmy’s. Bonnie had always wanted to me a June bride so she and Kevin Andrews (no relation) scheduled the wedding for the third week in June. It was going to be a small affair, just close family and friends. Bonnie asked Jess to be her Maid of Honor.
Of course Jess accepted. She knew it would be difficult running into Jimmy again but there was no way she would miss Bonnie’s wedding. She wouldn’t allow her feelings to spoil Bonnie’s wedding day.
She arrived in town two days before the wedding. She had a dress fitting that afternoon and was on her way to the hotel when she saw the police car with the bubble light signaling her over. The sheriff’s car stopped and out stepped Jimmy. He looked so handsome in his uniform that she literally couldn’t catch her breath.
“Hello Jess. I thought that was you. Can I see your license and registration, please?”
“Are you kidding, Jimmy. You know damn well who I am. What was I doing that made you pull me over?” she said.
“No, I’m not kidding. You were going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone and you failed to put on your blinker when you made that last right turn.”
“I slowed down the minute I saw the change of speed sign. Can’t you overlook the blinker?”
“What kind of officer would I be if I let law breakers off the hook?”
“The kind that gets favors for favors. How about it?
“What did you have in mind,” he asked.
“I’m staying over at the Holiday Inn again. As a matter of fact I’m headed there now.”
He nodded and began walking toward his patrol car. Jess couldn’t believe she was doing this again. Hadn’t she learned her lesson from the last go around? He was so handsome though and she was still very much in love and lust.
When they got to the hotel, Jimmy called in that he was going off duty and would check back in
later. He waited for her to get in the elevator and then just slipped in behind her. He finally spoke as the elevator door closed.
“You know there is a heavy penalty for law breakers. In addition to speeding, and failure to signal, I am also adding the charge of bribing an officer.”
“I am well aware of that Officer. Why do you think we’re on our way to my room? I plan on paying the fine.” she said.
“The fine may be heftier than you think, Ms. Andrews.”
“Promises, promises” she said.
They were no sooner in the room that they began removing their clothing. They were passionately kissing as their clothing dropped along the way on the walk to the bed. They were all over each other like white on rice. They couldn’t get enough of each other. The sex was explosive.
“Can I consider the charges dropped.” asked Jess.
“Not quite” he said. With that he pulled her across his lap and began giving her a very sound spanking. She didn’t complain.
He told her now she was exonerated and he hoped she had learned her lesson. She told him she liked being a law breaker and the consequences were nothing she couldn’t handle.
He laughed and slapped her fanny.
“By the way, he said. “Will you marry me?”
And so it was that her friend became Bonnie Briggs Andrews and she became Jess Andrews Briggs.
