I have to tell you I am loving my time off! I don’t have to go back to work until January
7th and then I’m taking the 9th off to celebrate with my
boys. I’ve had a lot of time on my hands
this week. Nick and his brother have torn down an old shed at his parent’s
house and are building them back a new one.
That’s kept him busy. Mollie is
sleeping a lot and seeing her friends some.
So I’ve been on my own. I like it
fine; I’ve been doing some reading, some writing, and even a little cleaning.
On Saturday afternoon I watched the DVD Mollie got me for
Christmas. I had seen it a while back,
but I enjoyed it. It’s Mamma Mia, with Meryl Streep. If you haven’t seen it it’s definitely worth
the effort. I defy any woman with in 10
years of my age not to smile through most of it. There is no deep meaningful story, it’s just
fun – and please don’t forget to watch the credits at the end.
Another reason I enjoy it so much is that Meryl Streep said
in an interview once that one of the reasons she took the role was that she
knew seeing her sing and dance in this would embarrass her adult children – you
gotta love a woman who thinks like this.
As to the other topic I occasionally write about, if anyone
see’s Badass, Wimpy, or PK tell them I sure do miss them and they’re welcomed
to drop by any time.
lol i loved mama mia too. i'm an abba fan so 'nuff said :)
ReplyDeleteglad you've got the long break!
Fondles,
DeleteI wasn't that big an Abba fan until recently, but I sure am now.
Ooh, I love that movie! it was given to me as a gft too. Think we woke the neighbours watching it lol

Roz
Roz,
DeleteIt can get loud if you have a crowd - so much fun.
PK,
ReplyDeleteIt is good that you are enjoying your break.
If I see the three miscreants I'll slap their bums and send them home.
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.
Paul,
DeleteDon't just slap their bums, spank 'em good before you send them home!
Much to the horror of Son, I did like that movie. He just could not imagine that a grown up man would even dare to like such a chick-movie.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably the best thing about getting older: I don't ask others anymore what I should like.
If I ever see him again, I'll ask Little Wicked Demon about your gang. Last time I saw him, he was making passes at them all and at Rogues Dopp.
That damn demon is collecting himself a harem!
Bas,
DeleteThat IS the best part of getting older, not caring what other's think of what we like and don't like. Now where are all these alter egos hanging out? I hope they are at least having a great time together.
I must rent that movie. I have seen the stage play and it was wonderful.

Hermione
Hermione,
DeleteIt's a wonderful girl's night movie if you get the chance.
I'm for anything that embarrasses the children ;-p ...and I love Meryl Streep, lol. Glad you're enjoying your time off Pk, wishing you the best in 2013!
ReplyDeleteJune,
DeleteYep, and embarrassing children seems to get so much easier as I get older. I'm looking forward to 2013.
I absolutely loved that movie. It just makes you feel good.
ReplyDeleteSunny,
DeleteI know! It just makes me grin!
I love that movie. I've seen it twice.
ReplyDeleteWont be long before the boys are home.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
Ronnie,
DeleteVery soon and I can't wait!
I am crazy about that movie! I think I've said it before, some of my close compatriots think my personality is similar to the author friend! I love singing and dancing during the movie! Fun.
ReplyDeleteMinelle,
DeleteI love that character! Did you realize that she was the one who played Ron's mother in the Harry Potter movies?
Am a big Abba fan and absolutely love Mamma Mia. The fact that one of the reasons Meryl Streep took the role was that she knew it would embarrass her adult children is an added plus. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy you are enjoying your time off and am sure you will have a great time with the boys.
Blessings,
Cat
Cat,
DeleteIt's just such a fun movie! So glad I have another week off!
I haven't seen that movie, I'll have to check it out. Have a wonderful time with the boys when they get home. If I see Wimpy, Badass or Pk I'll send them home, it's gotta be warmer there then it is here :)
ReplyDeleteFaerie,
DeleteI hope you'll like it. I'm betting those three are sunning themselves in Hawaii or somewhere.
It's a good movie- always makes me smile- I forget about it.. . so thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Soft Bottom,
DeleteYep it good anytime.
I took my parents to see the musical production of it a few years ago and loved it. So much fun! Hard not to sing along. I have not seen the movie yet, though... :-) I will certainly send the trio home if I see them. :-) Best wishes for a happy New Year! :-) Hugs, Terpsichore
ReplyDeleteTerps,
DeleteOh get the movie and sing along to your hearts content!
I wouldn't dare tell you how many times I've watched Mamma Mia! I love it! It's a real 'feel good' movie.

Ami
