I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

A birthday and an interview

First things first! Happy Birthday to one of the most
beautiful, creative, loving people I know!

To my dear friend CeeCi the Great!!
I hope your birthday is as special as you are!

~~0~~

Now about that interview... I’m lucky, I’ve only had three job interviews in my life and one was over the phone. I was offered all three jobs and I took them all. I don’t remember being nervous but all these were over 20 years ago. Today there is another job interview and I am nervous!

It’s not for me of course; it’s Mollie, her first job interview. This job is so important to her. She told me she wanted this job when she was 8 years old. She has never changed her mind. She is applying as a camp counselor at the church camp she loves. She has loved this camp since she first attended it 9 years ago. If they hire here she would be a counselor in training (CIT). No pay for this first year but she would be staying there for free and this counts as over 300 volunteer hours on her college applications.

She also tells me she plans on meeting her future husband there – not necessarily this year but some day. As she puts it “I can find a man who is a Christian and love kids. What could be better than that?” Can’t argue with her logic, as long as she is in no rush.

I’m driving her to the interview – it’s two hours away. Should give us plenty of time to talk. If she gets this position it will mean both kids will be gone this summer. I guess it will be our first introduction to the empty nest. That’s both frightening and exciting. But please cross your fingers for her - and that I can’t take her being gone.

    Happiest of birthdays to CeeCi!

I was a counselor at a religious kid's camp this summer, and I had a blast. Hard work, but worth it. If Mollie's anything like you, she'll do just fine in the interview! Also, I can totally follow her logic about finding a guy! xD

I hope she gets it. I worked at camp when I was 16, and it was so much fun. I worked in the craft building so I got to see all the kids at the camp in small groups throughout the day.

  5. PK, good on Mollie, it is great to hear of a young person willing to give, but she is your daughter PK, so where is the surprise.
I not going to wish CeeCi a happy birthday, I've already said it at least four times, I don't want to spoil her. WEG
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

  6. You remembered! Thank you for the lovely greeting, and thank you everybody for sending happy wishes on my special day.

Especially Paul. who has showered me with lots of birthday love this year. I'm ready for my birthday spanking when you are!!

Mollie will ace her interview. She's a warm-hearted, and very level young lady. She's a natural leader, so responsible, and caring, too.

She's going to meet her husband there? Now that's what I call visualization!

    Love you!
    *hugs*

  7. PK what are you and Mollie so worried about. I have no doubt she is going to get the job. It's a slam dunk!

Let me know when you find out. I'll be waiting with my "I told you so!"

And wherever Mollie meets Mr Right, I know he will be "right." That girl has it going on!

    Love and Huggs!

  8. Maggie,
I hope she gets it and enjoys it as you did. About the guy, we'll see.

    Kaylynn,
She is so excited by the prospect. I'm excited for her. Thanks for the prayers.

    Anne,
It's interesting that both you and Maggie worked at summer camps. Mollie always loved her counselors so much.

    Ronnie,
    I'm staying crossed too.

    Paul,
She is a really good kid and I'm very proud of her.

You're right about CeeCi - we don't want to spoil her! LOL!

    Ahhh...
The birthday girl! Glad you stopped by. A birthday spanking from Paul - now that would be something!

I am doing some visualization of the man I want for my daughter - it's going to have to be a very special man!

    Theresa,
I hope you can tell me 'I told you so'. I don' know how long it will take for them to make their decision. But I will let everyone know.

  9. Happy birthday to CeeCi. It's great you have such a wonderful friend.

And you've raised such a mature young woman in Mollie who's already thinking about what she wants in a future husband although let's hope she waits a few years to go there.

And I can imagine your husband will never think any young man is good enough for his precious daughter. But I bet he's been such a good role model that it will make it easier for her to find the right one.

And now to the empty nest. Trust me, you'll wonder some day why you were worried about it. When you have the whole house to yourself to do what you want when you want to do it, I think it'll be like a second honeymoon. Enjoy and good luck.
