I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Cassie’s gone to meddling

Cassie’s been with me for fifty years. Just as a companion. She’s always eager to share her stories with me and I’m always eager to listen. But lately, as we’ve gotten closer and closer to the same age, she is definitely starting to meddle.

We’re going to a big family wedding the end of April. As it happened it’s another gay wedding. My cousin’s son and his boyfriend are ready to tie the knot. But unlike LJ and Collin’s wedding which was basically a wonderful party in a bar, this wedding is going to be the wedding of the season with a large rehearsal dinner, late afternoon wedding, dinner, dancing and an open bar.

If you’ve read here long you should know – I don’t do fancy. I’ve worn one dress since August of 2003. I didn’t like it. Dresses also require shoes – other than flip flops or tennis shoes. I don't like shoes. They hurt my feet and if they have any heel I'd probably kill myself. So I’ve been worrying about what to wear to this upcoming wedding. Monday I headed out in search of a wedding outfit – pants with a pretty blouse.

Then Cassie decided to stick her nose into my business. As I was looking for some nice pants, she basically told me that ‘women of our age’ needed a dress or two. But I don’t like dresses I explained in my head. She gave me a look and said no more.

I ended up with two dresses and two pair of shoes.

Cassie has gotten me half way through her tenth book, but she is going to have to stick to telling me stories and stay out of my wardrobe.

  1. Hahaha PK...now, if only Tom would meddle a bit more with Tom. ;) Enjoy your new dresses and shoes. Oh and I would suggest, breaking those shoes in well before you have to wear them. :)

    Hugs and blessings...Cat

    1. It would be great if Tom would get into Nicks head - a tiny bit anyway. Shoes - I hate them.

    1. It's a pretty dress, but I'm afraid I'll just look uncomfortable.

  3. I had never seen my best friend wearing a dress in all the 22 years I've known her, until her son got married recently. She looked fabulous and was showered with compliments. I'm sure it will be the same for you. You'll probably have Cassie on your shoulder saying "I told you so."

    1. Wow, my wardrobe is ONLY pants and shorts. I don't own a skirt and with my purchases Monday I now have exactly 3 dresses.

  5. I'm like you, don't like dresses and don't wear them very often. Skirts, I have a few but I'm happiest in Jeans. You will look fabulous. Enjoy the wedding and I hope you share a little about it.

    1. Oh I'll tell you all about it since I don't type with my feet. If I did it would probably be months.

  6. LoL PK, I love that Cassie is meddling and agree with Cat, you need Tom to meddle. I imagine with Cassie being involved the dresses are fabulous and that you will look gorgeous.Hope you do enjoy wearing them.

I have a friend who I never saw in a skirt, let alone a dress until her wedding day and I haven't seen her in either since. She was originally going to wear a pant suit for her wedding.

    1. She has started popping into my life a little. At school when my boss drove me nuts, I would sometimes channel her when I had to talk to him.

  7. Please give dear Cassie a hug for me. I would love to have been there with you both, my friend, since I have never had the experience of split personality shopping.

Besides dresses have their advantages. Think how often Tom spanks by simply flipping up Cassie's skirt.

I think Cassie has shown up in my head too since offspring #3 is about to wed ... a dress it is... and I love my shoes however after two broken hips and a broken arm over the past three years I hope this is NOT a recipe for disaster for BOTH of us. Send me pictures!!!!

  12. Have you tried Easy Spirit shoes? I find them quite comfortable and they have some nice flats.
