I know not many here now will be as affected by this post as
I am, but blogland lost a dear friend this past weekend. For those of you who might
remember, Paul passed away in his sleep Sunday night. He was a sweet man and I
will always remember him with love.
Paul was here when I began blogging eleven years ago. He
commented on every single post I ever wrote, here and at Cassie's Space, until problems drove him away from
blogging and then we kept up with one another by email. As his health faded, I kept up with him through his niece. He was Cassie’s ‘big
brother’ and I think he loved her as much as I do.
His passing make me go back in my mind to some hard times
out here. Most of you weren’t here and have no memory of Paul. He and I
weathered those very hard times together. I stayed and kept blogging, sadly he
quietly went away. His on-line family meant so much to him and he missed that family
when he left.
Paul wasn't perfect – who is? Regardless of truth or fiction or lies or good stories I simply hope that Paul is with his beloved Mel, because I love a happy ending.

So sad..... I always felt like Paul was our patriarch, always cheering us on in our crazy lives.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever read any of Paul's comments, but I admire a person who sticks with a friend through thick and thin. I am glad there are such pleasant memories of him now that he is gone.

How very sad. Paul and his fantasy wife Mel were much loved by many of us.

Big hugs to you, PK! You have shared about him to me, and I know how special your friendship was. Very sad! You, and all who knew him and loved him are in my thoughts! Lots of love sent your way,

My heart goes out to you. I remember Paul. He came by and visited a few times when I first began blogging and he actually wrote a review for one of my first books.
ReplyDeleteRIP Paul
I can't say that I ever 'knew' Paul. He commented on my blog in 2009 and 2010, before he no longer came by. Being online is always difficult when it's only likes or comments that form a connection. I'm glad you were able to remain in touch with him and that your friendship was strong.
ReplyDeletePK,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about Paul. I did not know him or remember him, but he touched your heart. I am sorry for your loss. Losing a friend is always hard.
