I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Send me calm vibes, please

Your calming vibes must have worked - I did not injury him. I did not lose my cool. I got part of what I wanted, but it wasn't worth the effort. I'm going back to actively avoiding him.

Not on topic in any way today – just a mild rant, it would be a raging rant, but I just won’t let myself go there.

Please cross your fingers and pray for calmness for me this morning. I know I’m going to have a ‘discussion’ with my boss. Pray I keep my tongue and don’t tell the little ass what I really think of him.

I’ve made it a policy to never have volunteer contact with this man. But a new rule he put in place is causing me to break my policy. If we want to show any videos we must have them approved. I’m not a big movie teacher, so this is rarely a problem. But it is now.

Part of what I teach is ancient Egypt and ancient Rome. The two main movies I show are The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur. Keep in mind I am also supposed to teach the beginning of the five major world religions, Jewish, Christian, Islam, Buddhist and Hindi – and no I don’t tell them what to believe, simply how each religion came to be.

These two movies I like show, show the life styles, the architecture, the dress, and the political history of these different ancient cultures. Our school owns the movies they have been shown for years. I was to go to the vice principal and I did, he couldn’t okay them because of the length – I show them as a back drop of my lessons, usually about twenty minutes at the end of each class. VP sent me to the principal, the one I try to avoid.

So I went to him, he wanted me to explain to him how it met the curriculum. I did and he kept asking stupid questions. I finally realized he was simply enjoying going in circles with me so I stopped talking. He said he’d have to discuss it with the VP. Next day I asked the VP if a decision had been made. He said Principal would get back to me. I said, “When mommie and daddy make a decision, do let me know, I’m not running back and forth any more.”

Got an email from the principal saying we would discuss it at the content meeting this morning. To be honest, I don’t give a crap any more. I’ve taught for twenty-five years and if he doesn’t respect my professionalism enough to teach my own class there is nothing I can do about it. I feel he simply wants me to jump through his hoops and beg.

Ain’t gonna happen.

I just hope and pray I can keep my mouth shut and save my ranting and raving for here where I am talking with intelligent adults with common sense. I sure don’t find that in my administration.

    1. It must have worked, I'm free at the moment, and I hear no sirens approaching.

PK, just remember to make the meeting as short as possible. Do not go into discussions with him, how much he just wants.
And if it gets worst, think of the parable: what about the pigs and pearls?
    Be strong.

    1. Mona,
Good advice. I said nothing, I'd all ready said my piece and I wasn't going over it again. I let him do the talking.

Take a Union Rep. in if you are in one to take notes.

    1. If only. I live in the south - no teacher unions here. And this begins the sixth year since we have see a raise, SIX years.

  4. Big sympathy for your situation. Please do stay calm and don't play into his hands. The world (including my own country) is full of teachers who feel their professionalism is being undermined by ignorant know-alls. I wish it was not the case.

    1. DF,
It's almost like they are actively trying to drive us from the profession and discourage young people from becoming teachers.

  7. Elis,
we have the same problem here, only it is idiot government ministers.
If you think it serious enough and you belong to a union, take a rep as a witness.
    Sending you calming vibes.
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

    1. Paul,
I wish that was an option. No union, no raise in 6 years, no more tenure, no more extra pay if you get your masters or doctorate - it's nuts here.

  8. It truly sounds like he is just playing the jerk because he is in charge and thinks he can get away with it. The school owns the videos so obviously they've shown it before and I am sure many times so why now all of a sudden he is questioning the reason it. You would think he had more important things to do with his time.

Too bad you don't live up north most of the schools have unions and the teachers in our district would never think of going without a raise for even one year and they get paid very well.

My suggestion is if he gives you grief then just suggest the movies to the students to watch at home if they can. They can check Netflix or Redbox.

    1. Kaki,
Micro-manager is his middle name. I'd like to tell him if he is such an expert on everything then make a damn video of each lesson and my job will be pushing the button to show it.

Wouldn't it be heaven if that would work. Somehow I don't think Fifty Shades of Grey money is coming my way, maybe four or five shades, hopefully.

  10. He is trying to make you lose it. Don't let him get to you. You have shared that there is no love lost between you both. He is trying to force your hand. That way he can write you up....
STAY calm! WE ALL KNOW YOU are the BETTER PERSON!!!

    1. Minelle,
I did stay calm. I decided I'd said my piece and his answer was all that needed to be said. He wasn't going to listen so I wasn't going to talk.
