I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Getting started

I want to thank everyone who stopped by yesterday. Having support means a lot as I really start working to get healthy again. It’s scarier than last time. I was so pumped to do it 4 years ago and now I’m a little down because I feel all that hard work went down the drain and I have to start all over.

That being said there is a little excitement at finally getting started again. Nick seems happy that I am starting back too. I know he wants me healthy and happy. He’s not expecting skinny and wouldn’t want that, just healthy. There is always some hesitation and concern when you have a spanking riding on whether or not you lose. SugarAnne pointed out that you can work your butt off at times but if you’ve hit a plateau there will not be a loss. Scunge says Sir won’t spank for losses or gains either. So we know that there are many ways to do this. Nick too has been hesitant in the past to spank when he sees me really working hard but no loss for a week. I think we might work something out when I can record how much I workout each week and if there isn’t a loss he can make his decision based on how much time I've spent on the wii or at the gym.

Nick is always the one making sure my goals are reasonable. When we began the first time we felt a loss of half a pound a week was fine. My goal is one pound this week and then to maintain until the end of January. Although he has told me I was free to surpass this goal if I want to. LOL!

Most of you reading now don’t know Nick very well. He doesn’t write and he never comments but he is a wonderful guy and I love his sense of humor. I had sent him an email the other day telling him that while encouragement was nice, threats usually worked better for me. And I got the following email from him.

Well I think this is more of a promise than a threat. You have put your butt on the line so to speak, so you better come through. You are on the hook for this week as well as the end of Jan. So you better bear down or "bare down". I am not going to get into the daily details for now; I trust that you are going to do what is necessary to succeed. But do pay attention to your intake and look for reasons and opportunities to get off your butt or I'll have to get onto it!

Love you.

I really have to love a guy who sends an email like that. I’m working on it and I’ll let you know how it goes this week.

  1. PK: Let's hope the email motivated you to get serious about your weight but then who am I to talk. I need to lose at least 15 pounds and now they are selling eggnog at the grocery stores in the holiday season. Oh, I love it but hate to look at the calories on the bottle.

    Good luck.

  3. PK,
That email is a great motivator. I get one of those every now and then, and it strengthens my resolve within a matter of seconds. Nick is a smart man! He's reasonable, fair, and knows how to push you just right. You'll do great!

  5. FD,
I always have at least one glass of eggnog each year and that's it! I want to do it but mentally I don't feel like I've totally committed to it. I hope I can soon get that feeling.

    Abby,
That might be a good idea. And I will keep you posted.

    Thanks SugarAnne,
He's really the best. I love getting emails and text from him.

    Ronnie,
It is good to have support out here.
