I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Update

Update - I still feel rough but I want to thank everyone who stopped by. I'm willing to bet it is the Vitamin D thing. I had completely forgotten (old age?) that I had a serious Vitamin D deficiency about seven years ago and by OB-Gyn picked it up and I was on high doses for a while. When it came back to normal I was supposed to stay on a supplement which I did until about three months ago when I ran out and completely forgot about it. Even though I think you guys pegged it I'm seeing my doctor before making any moves. I called today to see if I could go tomorrow for them to at least do some blood work before my appointment next Thursday. I hope they can get me in and I hope they can find just enough wrong for an easy fix. Thank you all so much for your concern - you have to know I'm really tired not to answer each comment individually, but I'll be back on my feet soon.

I don’t feel good. I’m coming here to see if anyone knows what’s wrong with me. I’ve never gotten over a cold I got about six weeks ago. I was mostly over it except for an awful cough. I didn’t cough all day but when I started coughing it felt and sounded like I was coughing up a lung. Mucinex helped until I got another cold this past Saturday now the cough is back – more of a raspy throat cough and it’s always there when I try to talk – not great for a teacher. For several months now I’ve felt like there was something in the back of my throat, like something that is stuck there.  It seemed to go away for a while, but these last two colds has it noticeable again.

Here are other symptoms I’m having:

Night sweats (not all the time, but about once a week)
Muscles cramps – feet, back, calf
Joint pain in my knees – worse than usual
            I’m exhausted

It’s not menopause – I when through that nearly ten years ago.

I’m hoping I’m a hypochondriac, but it’s all starting to worry me. I just wanted to see if you all had any ideas. Don’t worry, I’ve made a doctor’s appointment too, but I couldn’t get in until the tenth. I usually just want to come home and sleep and I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.

  1. Hey PK...some of your symptoms are very similar to what I had last year when the doctor found my vitamin D levels were "dangerously" low. Doc put me on high dosage vitamin D for 3 months...after my levels came back up, he's kept me on higher than recommended daily. I can now really tell the difference if I quit taking my vitamin D for a bit. Happy you are getting to doctor to get checked out. Sending lots of prayers and healing energy.

  2. Cat could be right, Vitamin D can give you those symptoms.. Really glad you've booked docs. She'll probably give you full blood works.

Hope it's all sorted soon and you are fully back on your feet.

    Love and hugs,

  3. PK could be an allergic reaction to some meds you might be taking. Also menopause can last forever according to my sister in law. I'm still getting hot flushes after going through it almost 6 years ago. Maybe talk to your chemist if you can't get into the doctor until the 10th. Hopefully you can get some relief soon. Sending healing vibes your way.

  4. Before I started reading the responses i was also thinking could be a lack of vitamin D. Not a good time of the year to be feeling so yucky and tired...hope it gets resolved soon.

  5. HI PK, I too have had the vitamin d deficiency. You need extra strength replacements if it is that, not just the over the counter stuff. It won't touch it. I hope you feel better soon. I was going to ask the same question as you the other day. My own doctor is not so great at the moment and I was wishing there was someone out here too!

  6. You poor thing. You have really had a nasty time lately. The vitamin D thing sounds plausible. I get plenty of sun, so it has never been an issue for me. Just lots of wrinkles!

I do have the muscle cramps, and that can sometimes signal pre-diabetes. Try stopping any extra sugar and limit the carbs. I am a lot more careful of this in the last few years. If I binge on sugar in any way, I will get the cramping in my legs and feet enough to keep me awake. Even bad enough that I have to get up and walk around for a few minutes. Your fatigue would also fit in with this problem. Glad you have that doctor appointment.

  7. Please be careful. Taking too much Vitamin D can also be dangerous. Wait and see what the doctor says before you start self-medicating.

    1. My doc says these aren't the golden years, they're the rust years. We all tend to rust. I've dealt in the last year with two new things -- blood clot and high blood pressure -- and I feel like I want a nap every afternoon. I get my annual physical Friday. Good luck and get healthy.

Vitamin D was my issue - Dr placed me on Vitamin D2 and it came up 3 points. Switched over to D3 and it came up higher. Cheese, egg yolks, milk, yogurt and fatty fish are food sources. One half a dozen of the other the back draw is if your lactose intolerant or allergic to milk or just plain don't like fish the "natural way" may not be the best...lol

  10. I just want you to get some blood work! It can be thyroid, vitamin D or a weird virus!

  12. Good thing is not hypochondria, because I'm mildly hypochondriac myself and don't want to get any more of it :)

Seriously though, hope you get better.
