I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

I hate Yahoo's changes

I know how old this makes me sound, but why does everything have to keep changing once I get used to it. I’m of the firm belief, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’ I hate the changes Yahoo has made. I’ve had a yahoo account since I’ve had email. When people started to go to Google I stayed where I was with something familiar. My kids made fun of me, insinuating everyone who was anyone used gmail.

I have gmail at work – hate it. Don’t like the way it shows my email it seems confusing and redundant. So what does Yahoo do? It says screw all of you who have remained loyal to us, we are now changing to everything you hate about gmail, like being confusing, redundant and it keeps bundling things I don't want bundled. It's not one hot mess.

Here are a few Yahoo questions and answers:

Are we going to ask you if you want this change? Hell, no.

Are we going to ask if we can change your account whether you want it or not? Hell, no.

Are we going to give you the option to go back to the format you liked? Hell, no.

Are we going to make it easy to give us feed back on this change? Awww… hell, no.

And just to add insult to injury when you delete your span, or your trash or complete a draft they give you one of these peppy little messages:

You are my Anti-Spam hero.
There are no emails in your Spam folder.

Or

Nice job, it sure looks tidy in here!
There are no emails in your Trash folder.

Or

Nice work, you finish what you start.
There are no emails in your Drafts folder.

I suppose if they hadn’t screwed with my email I might have seen it as mildly amusing, but how I read it as so much condescending bullshit!

I realize nothing I say will change one thing, but I wanted to get it out before I exploded. And one other thing, I hear Yahoo has come up with a new motto:

“We’re Yahoo, we don’t care, we don’t have to.”

  2. You can get rid of some of the problems if you click on the cog in the upper right corner, then choose settings, then click viewing e-mail then choose basic. This gets rid of all the fancy bells and whistles what we all have grown to hate in only what? A few short days...yes, WE HATE YAHOO! Good luck!

    1. Thank you Cygnet. I took your advice and voila, back to The Way It Was.

    2. Cygnet,
It worked when I did it - but it won't stay on basic, every time I go away and come back its back to the fancy version. Is there a way to make it stay on basic. I hit save every time I do it. It's just out to keep me mad!

    3. I'm sorry...I know you have to reset it every time...sigh, but at least it is better than having to deal with the "New and Improved Version" (Yes, PollyAnna is here) If you want to make it even better...once you get your messages reloaded in the basic version, you need to hit the back button on your browser...then you are truly back in Yahoo world before the disaster!

  3. You know I hate, we've already had this discussion. When I took your advice and clicked on the URL, guess what, it was down. COME BACK LATER. Yeah, they're to busy making more unwanted changes.
Sorry didn't mean to rant on your dime.

You rant here any time you want to. Yeah, I've tried a couple of places, but evidently they just don't care what anyone thinks.

I think we're all in the same boat - only I don't have any kids here to teach me.

  5. PK,
take it easy dear girl, people exploding all over the place, is so messy.
I would add, if you are going to explode, do it at school, preferably in the head's office. LOL.
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

  7. I'm having such a good time reading funny blog posts this morning!!

Just resign yourself and join the club PK, I am "Windows Live" and even that has become stupid and confusing. I've long noticed in life that as soon as you get used to something, and get comfortable with it or wearing it, or you like its colour, it fits you, or it does exactly what you want it to - someone, somewhere, changes it!

Gmail wouldn't even let me create an account, and that's when I decided to stay with Windows Live, but like Yahoo, someone, somewhere decided to put a spoke in the wheel!

    Hugs

I don't think I'd mind so much if I could just feel that my complaints were heard and acknowledged.

  9. And insult to injury? I use Firefox, and the new Yahoo mail doesn't play well with Firefox. Horrible.

Now that I know, I'm changing it back to the way it was. Thanks!

  10. I have hotmail, gmail, yahoo, and a regional provider and there are all infuriating. However, the first three are free, so I suspect they don't care and do what they like.

    1. DF,
You're right, I know it's free - but they make plenty of money selling ad to those who want to shove them in our faces. They could at least listen to us a little.
