Welcome to Saturday Spankings. In today’s snippet from On the River, Allie and Jenny talked about how close Cassie and Sue and Annie are, sometime nearly reading one another’s minds. Then the girls asked if they had ever really fought, and Cassie had a story for them. I’ll be telling this in three parts, so be sure to come back next week.
“This was way, way back. Tom and I had only been married a few years. I think it was the year after the cruise. We were all at one of the conventions and Sue had spent the day before ‘the incident’ getting me in trouble.”
“Stop right there, you big liar,” Sue growled at her.
“Just hush, I’m telling this.”
“Fine,” Sue snapped, “I’ll tell them the truth later.”
“Sue and I spent the day together getting ourselves in trouble,” Cassie amended. “Annie was at the convention too, but she wasn’t feeling well or something. Anyway, I know she stayed in her room. We’d planned on hanging around the pool all day, but it was raining so we made the tour of all the hospitality rooms.
“Back then, you see, there were always tons of hospitality rooms and the booze flowed in each. I guess we drank pretty steadily from before noon until I headed back to the room to meet Tom and get dressed for the cocktail party.”
“You two been bad girls all yo’ life,” Lily interjected.
Ignoring Lily’s interruption Cassie went on. “I’ve always been pretty good at hiding how much I’m drinking from Tom, as long as I keep my mouth shut. And he didn’t suspect anything was amiss as we headed out. But the more I had to drink as the evening wore on, the more my old habits began to resurface. Tom told me later that it was bad. He said he first noticed something when he heard me laughing and cursing with a bunch of men. When he got me away from them, he said I was coming on to him loudly and um… somewhat less than discreetly.”
The girls sat wide-eyed and Cassie grinned at them. “You can just imagine how well that went over with Tom. He whisked me out of there pretty quickly and put me to bed.”
“Didn’t he whip your butt?” Lily wanted to know. “He sure shoulda.”
“Whose side are you on, Lily?” she asked.
“I ain’t never gonna be on y’all’s when you been drinkin’ like a fish. That’s for sure.”
“To answer your question, no, not that night. However, the next morning, after I’d sobered up some, the man flat wore me out. He wasn’t angry, but he was a man on a mission and that mission was to convince me of the evils of drinking. Tom doesn’t exactly spank gently these days, but I know it was worse back then. That spanking was long and hard and I was sore as a boil when it was over and Tom finally felt he’d gotten his point across.
“But we talked a long time too. I expect I cried more from the talking than the spanking. I knew I’d embarrassed Tom, though he never said that in so many words. But I so wanted him to be proud of me and I felt guilty. He was so sweet. He held me and eventually made me feel like the best wife in the world. I still don’t know how he managed to do that."

These ten books introduce Cassie. She is my friend and has been since she wandered into my imagination fifty-four years ago. She is married to Tom, the man who loves her in a way that makes my heart nearly burst with happiness for the two of them. Cal and Jenny are one of my younger couple. The spanking in their relationship began mere minutes after they met, and Cal hasn’t let up much since. There relationship has it’s struggles, but these two are meant to be together. They live in the same town as Cassie and Tom and there is a lot of interactions among the character of both series. Jenny is not as reluctant as Cassie to openly discuss her sex life, so you’ll find a little more spice in this series.
On the River series
In this, my latest series, everyone is around – all the characters I’ve grown to love over the years are living on the area of the river that they call The Landing. Their lives, their adventures, even their spankings sometimes intertwine. By this time in the series, I’m just typing as my characters tell me what’s happening. And I love it!
I’ll close today with a review on the latest book. This is one of the finest reviews I’ve ever had.
Starting with the first Cassie book until now, I have never been disappointed or failed to wait expectantly for the next one.
