Now that was a trip!

I think I’m still getting over my trip! Molly went on this trip a few years ago and I depended on her to tell me what I could and couldn’t do. She way overestimated what I could do! That being said I did most of it.

We flew into Phoenix  and saw beautiful Sedona first. Then we went to the Shell station. You may not have heard of this. It’s in Page, AZ and it’s just a beautiful rock formation behind a shell station. But you had to climb a hill with lots of loose sand. But as you can see it was a beauty.

Later that day we went to Horseshoe bend. Molly had assured me it was a nice level walk. Bless her heart, the girl lies. It was a nice smooth path, but you’re going down – and then back up about eleven stories on this mile and a half walk. But again, I loved seeing it.

The next morning we were off to Antelope Canyon. Molly had said that there were some metal steps that you could see through at the beginning of the canyon. She know grated walkways and steps are a fear of mine, but she said there were just a few at the beginning. Once again, liar, liar, pants on fire.  First off we had to climb down six stories of these steps, some so steep you had to do them like a ladder. But once down it was the most amazingly beautiful place we saw.

I’d never seen anything like it. But, of course after climbing down six stories, you eventually had to climb out. Let’s just say it was pretty hard for me and I fell once. All I did was scrub my knee but the guides followed me through, fanning me and giving me water. The even called for one of their carts to drive me back up to the giftshop area once we got out. I guess I give off little old lady vibes these days.

But we did make it out and I’m truly glad I got to see it. Here are a few other points we saw.

Nick seemed to feel great on the trip and could certainly out walk me! This is a trip anyone would enjoy, but if you’re anywhere near my age and you want to take this trip, I strongly suggest you do it at least ten to fifteen years ago!

Come back Saturday for Saturday Spankings.

Oh my gosh, these are beautiful! Molly gave you just enough info so you’d go and she knew you’re fine. I admit, I got a bit of a kick out that. Looks like you made some amazing memories!

    1. I am glad we went! I think Molly is so young and healthy that she barely noticed some of these tough places.

    1. Too many of us put things off until we retire and have the money saved. Just don't wait too long, this was all so amazing to see.

    1. Nick's energy amazed me! Two months ago he could barely walk up from the back yard, yet he was running up hill to take pictures like he was a teenager. These were truly some wonderful sights.

    1. Me too! Another scene of him running up a steep hill with a sharp curve is about 30 minutes from my home.
