I have been a wife and mother for over twenty years. Now I am becoming my husband's lover, too.
We owe it all to my fellow bloggers who gave me the courage to come out to my husband as a spanko.
I do feel like this is a New Beginning for us.

Good news, bad news, better news

First the good news – I got a brand new lap top! I got my previous laptop just a few weeks after I found blogs and became hopelessly addicted to the whole spanko playground. That was about 3 ½ years ago. It was a really good computer and we went through some fine times together but it was past time for an upgrade. I wanted to avoid Vista if possible so I waited for windows 7. So far, so good, of course I have only been working with it for about 3 hours so I will be able to tell you more later. It’s a pretty thing, a Gateway, and the plug doesn’t have to be held in by one hand while you type with the other. So far I see that as a big improvement!

The bad new – stress at work hasn’t improved much. I had a colleague who has a BP machine check me Thursday after a meeting and it was 155/89 she was a bit worried and insisted I have the nurse check it again a little later. When I did it was 160/100. Sigh… I call my doctor and went in that afternoon; they got that same high reading. Now I’m on blood pressure medicine and I’m blaming it on the job. My mom did develop high BP but not until she was in her late 70’s. This is too soon and I don’t like it! Maybe when I lose more weight I can come off it. I’ll keep you posted.

Better news – Nick had been gone over night Friday and he hadn’t been home a half hour before he had out the dogging bat, had me over a chair and was asking questions about what time I had gotten in bed the night before (late), had I taken my vitamins (no) and had I made it to the gym Saturday (again, no). But in my defense, who knew he was going to ask! LOL! We didn’t have much time before Mollie was due home but I’ll have to say we did make the most of it!

I appreciate those of you who came by to read Fantasy Friday this week. It was fun writing it and I think Nick enjoyed it too! We will have another brand new Fantasy Friday again next week. When someone sends a new story I have to tell you it really brightens my day!

And one last thing, Cassie was whispering a story in my ear Saturday and I’ll have to say she had me chuckling. I think we’ll be hearing from her soon. So for today at least, I think the good news outweighs the bad!

  1. PK, I'm glad that the good news outdid the bad news.
But for friendships sake take care of yourself, not forgetting Nick and the children, I'm not so selfish as I sound.
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

  2. Oh PK, blood pressure meds! I feel for you. I'm sure Nick will help you get through this and a goal to get off the damn things.

Congrats on the new laptop. I'm sure you and she (?) will become great pals.

Enjoy Sunday. We are expecting nice weather here. About 60 degrees. Divine!

  4. PK, you are so right. Stress can make us down right sick. I think Carol has the right idea. Let's all quit our jobs! Let's all come up with a business we can go into together!

Will lost 25 pounds and completely cured his hypertension. And he looks quite handsome too!

I hope things settle down at work, and the weights just melts away!

    Love and Huggs!

  5. Happy to hear about your new computer.

I hope you can find some ways to help with the stress. High blood pressure is nothing to fool with.

    Take care,
    Katia

  6. Three cheers for Nick and the dogging bat!

I had always had quite low BP then all of a sudden it shot up. A nurse told me it's pretty common for this to happen at menopause, so now I am on a drug. It's really no biggie, and I have a portable BP monitor to check it once a week or so. Sigh. What's next?

    Hugs,
    Hermione

    PK,
I'm glad you got a new computer. I have been reading but I don't think I have commented before. I like the excuse, that you didn't think he was going to ask. Great excuse.

  8. Paul,
Don't worry about me. I do have to work but at home Nick really waits on me. I'll be fine and thank you for your concern.

    Debbie,
Haven't felt any difference on the meds - of course I didn't ever feel bad before I started taking them. Maybe by summer I will have lost enough weight to try to go off them - summer isn't stressful either.

    Mthc,
I am loving it so far. Only problem is that it doesn't scroll as well as I would like but everything else is great.

    Theresa,
you come up with the job for all of us and I'll quit mine in a heartbeat!!

    Katia,
I'm hoping Nick will help with the stress relief. But I'll take the darn medicine for the time being.

    Hermione,
I was pretty happy about the dogging bat myself! I'll keep a check on it though.

    Dawn,
Thanks for stopping by. I guess that was the only excuse I had at the time! Please come back.

  10. Good one Nick. I've put the dogging bat on my Christmas wish list :)

PK, sorry about the high blood pressure, I had a spell of it being quite high but last check seems to have stabled a bit and keeping fingers it stays that way.

Let us know about Windows 7 please, thinking of upgrading my laptop to Windows 7.

    Love.
    Ronnie

  11. PK: Sorry to hear about your blood pressure. Hopefully, all the holidays in the next two months will help your stress levels and then the school year will be half over.

And sounds like Nick is continuing to give you a lot of attention and that has to help too.

And enjoy your new computer. Maybe it'll spur you on to write more stories and blog postings.

Go Nick!!! That is great news PK! You need some strong influence. Left on your own you'd be hearing your blood course through your own head! Yikes that's high & you'd hate to stroke out at this point in the game! Here's a link to keep you taking your meds my dear:

I think you need the BB if you forget!! Wasn't that your consummate motivator?! Hugs, KayLynn
